Watching a few highlights on YouTube is not the same as watching someone play a game or games. I'd explain more but it would just be over your head. Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
You don't disrupt the team when they are winning.
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Burleson was a much better hitter against minor league pitchers too. Now he sucks.
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Herrera has 5 HRs in 31 ABs on pace for 100 Hrs over his next 620 ABs spaning this year and next.

Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Ok, Sagesse up, but only if it's Burly going down. That way Oli can't have him at DH instead of HERRERA!!!
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
I'm not sure what role Burleson will play for the remainder of the season. But he's not the player to send down. Many CT posters still don't understand that Oli has tremendous respect for Burly. Burleson hasn't hit to his capabilities this season, as yet. But he will get some key hits to help win some games. The Cardinals know that.
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Can you provide a link to Oli professing his respect for Burleson? I'm sure it exists. I can't wait to read it.Shady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:21 amI'm not sure what role Burleson will play for the remainder of the season. But he's not the player to send down. Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
A true baseball guru should be able to figure this out by how often Oli pencils Burleson into the lineup vs RHP. As well as past interviews with Oli discussing Burleson.craviduce wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:25 amCan you provide a link to Oli professing his respect for Burleson? I'm sure it exists. sure....and the Link? Where is it? I'd like to read that article, and see these Interviews where Oli gushes about his respect for Burleson, and how this proves that Burleson belongs with the Cardinals.Shady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:30 amA true baseball guru should be able to figure this out by how often Oli pencils Burleson into the lineup vs RHP. Don't deflect with immature, senseless name calling. It's not needed here

Not feeling it with Gangbanger.
Definitely not Nitwit.
Maybe we can trade off names periodically?
Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
Has been a huge improvement for the TEAM to have VS2 replace Siani as the CF so far this season.
Could be a huge improvement for the TEAM to have Herrera as the almost fulltime DH vs. sharing it with Burly.
Given the opportunity Baker might outproduce Burly, or provide similar low value to the team.
But you're right, don't send Burly down, instead TRADE him for someone who might help this team now or later on.

Re: Herrera to cleanup, bring Saggese up
No, many CT posters don't care if Oli has tremendous respect for Burly. Again, he's a one-tool player and that one tool isn't very good.Shady wrote: ↑13 May 2025 09:21 amI'm not sure what role Burleson will play for the remainder of the season. And what exactly are the "capabilities" of a hitter with well over 1,000 MLB at bats who has a career .704 OPS and 94 OPS+? These numbers would indicate his ceiling is average to slightly below average "capabilities".
