Bad Day for Fans of The Band

Post by Pink Freud »

The last remaining original member has died: https://www.wesh.com/article/garth-huds ... ne@msn.com

This is especially bad news for my dearly-missed landlord/roomie/buddy in Los Angeles, who named his son for a member of The Band.

Garth Hudson was a magnificent musician and his contribution to the Band was unmeasurable. I will never forget the first time I heard "Chest Fever". It was an unforgettable moment.

I gambled last summer and grab a copy (CD) of Garth and Maud Hudson's LIVE at the Wolf. Mainly because I tend to grab anything Band related. Garth's piano playing on the CD is so amazing (the sound quality was also amazing). Maud sings on the 'It Makes No Difference' tribute to Danko (and she wasn't half bad; even had the Danko fragility). I came (bought) for Garth; and Maud singing can become annoying at times. Like John Lennon (and Yoko) 'Double Fantasy'.

RIP Garth Hudson; like George Harrison 'The Quiet One'.

Almost 3 years after Maud.

Tribute bands suck. What a waste. Musicians who play in tribute bands couldn't write a good song to save their lives and the people who go see them suck worse. Morons.
