Which Goaltender Left…
Has the stones to deliver a Cup to their team…besides Bob in Florida…I say it’s Oettinger in Dallas…all the others are each team’s weakest link IMO.
Re: Which Goaltender Left…
If Helkesuck wins the Smythe I'll puke. Looks like a year for the skaters to carry the goaltender.

If Darcy Kuemper can win a Cup then a lot of guys can. Heck, you can go back to Chris Osgood and the Wings is many years ago and now a team can be so absolutely loaded that it didn’t matter that had the ~ 20th best goalie in the league in net.
But Dallas and Oettinger are my pick as well at this point.

I hate the Jets and Hellasuck now. I hope they lose.
I'm rooting for Ottinger and Bobrovsky.

I want a Canadian team to win it all in this order Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton.

Re: Which Goaltender Left…
Big test for Hellebuyck and the Jets in Dallas tomorrow. He/they collapsed in every road game against the Blues, and Dallas managed to take away home ice advantage winning the first one in Winnipeg.
He has to show up when it really counts.
It’s definitely a weird mix of goalies this year. Pickard and Stolarz are journeyman backups. Woll and Thompson are largely unproven. Helle is either brilliant or a total headcase. Andersen is solid but has never gotten over the hump despite plenty of opportunity. Oettinger is great. Maybe he can do it with that Rantanen mojo? Hill has done it but Vegas seems suspect this year.
Not sure where I’d place my bets other than the obvious choice in Bobrovsky. But repeating as champs is extremely difficult.

Although I've pulled for Winnipeg in other years - due to how the league treated the fanbase ... I'm pulling for the Leafs now. That entire COUNTRY would go bananas if the Buds won it.

Looks like The Oil are going to have to survive with Skinner tonight. Pickard has been far superior, but is out with injury tonight.

Yeah that’s supposed to be a step up but in reality it probably isn’t.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑10 May 2025 20:18 pmLooks like The Oil are going to have to survive with Skinner tonight. Pickard has been far superior, but is out with injury tonight.

I’m rooting for the grammatically-challenged Leaves because they haven’t won The Cup in 58 years and since Joey Woll-nuts is a STL area guy!

So far he's playing pretty well tonight.bluetunehead wrote: ↑10 May 2025 20:40 pmYeah that’s supposed to be a step up but in reality it probably isn’t.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑10 May 2025 20:18 pmLooks like The Oil are going to have to survive with Skinner tonight. This year won't be about goaltending.
It will be about National pride.

Andersen just feels like this generation’s CuJo. Always good. Never good enough.
We’ll see. If a US team wins I’d prefer Carolina.
