There are some very large steps they have made in lineups this season.
Much more consistent when there has been motivation to change. The top is getting a full run. VS is staying at #9.
Siani and Baker removed. The bench is far better now.
If they're on the roster they should be used. Herrera will be #1 of the bench. With Burleson, Gorman, Pages, and even
VS in a row there can easily be a opportunity to bat Herrera.
Probably nothing but Herrera looks like he was wincing after a swing last night, and he was swinging big last night. Someone else mentioned it was out of frustration but I thought it looked like pain.
If you all will remember, they delayed bringing Ivan up because they wanted to be sure he was ready! So, it would really seem that it’s just Oli preferring to play Gorman and Burleson. Sure, maybe Ivan’s knee isn’t 100%, but that’s not why he isn’t playing today, it’s Oli.

Deciding who to sit to cram Burleson into the lineup is Marmol’s first thought. Strange as it is, we should be used to it.
I’ll pose another question, because I’ve given up trying to understand the Burleson love affair…
Why Pallante over Matz? Greater chance to win now, and potential for increased trade value if the season goes off the rails. You’d think they’d want to maximize whatever value left on that contract. He could be the difference in elevating a decent rotation into a strong one. Pallante has thrived in the bullpen before too. Improving both parts of the team could be the tipping point to becoming a playoff contender. They’re closer than many think. Marmol way too comfortable with losing for the sake of a learning experience.

Other than flipping the 3/4 spots and the 9/1 spots, it is a good lineup.
It is imperative for the team to rotate guys in and out until they are able to clear N/A from the roster.
