Old fashioned complete game. Nice to see.

Oh yes ! For an 'old' guy like me who saw tons of complete games in my younger years , it was fun to see it. I have always felt that more pitchers could go 9 innings today especially for shutout type games. . Maybe Oli will try it again sometime. It sure saves the bullpen when they get a full night rest.

Fedde last 6 GS:
3.11 ERA
3.51 FiP
Still needs to limit the walks but definitely has turned the corner.

I liked Edman but I was in favor of the trade and still am!AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 16:34 pmAlso we traded a guy who became a free agent and got way more money than he would be worth to STL. And we still got Fedde at $7 mil this year which is a bargain in today's market.TraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 08:34 am That trade was perfectly fine. We gave up an injured, lesser version of Brendan Donovan for a starter who (when all is said and done) will have pitched to a 3.5 ERA over his year and a half here.
Edman being gone is not an issue. They have Scott and Donovan and Gorman and Saggese coming on and JJ due next season.
They needed a SP!
And like you said $7.5M is a bargain!
Now since he is a pending FA I could see him being moved at the deadline.
Teams are always looking for pitching and he would only be owed $3M so again a bargain.
If he pitches well and wants to stay I could certainly see him being re-signed.
Obviously not for big $$ but he could certainly be a fit.

Edman had a wrist injury as well.Cusecards wrote: ↑10 May 2025 09:40 amI liked Edman but I was in favor of the trade and still am!AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 16:34 pmAlso we traded a guy who became a free agent and got way more money than he would be worth to STL. We are not moving Fedde because the SP is good enough to get into the post season. QO on Fedde.
Re: Fedde was a 1 year wonder-Everyone on CT bought the [nonsense] hook-line and sinker.
I was waiting to see how many people would be suggesting re-signing him based mostly off of last night. We have two tentative suggestions so far

Dealt at deadline?
Allowed to walk after the season?
Re-signed after the season?
I like Fedde but I sincerely doubt he gets a QO which is $21M.

If so, can we just schedule them all on the same day so the rest of us can find something else to do those days?Cusecards wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 08:52 amLOLOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 08:36 amIt’s funny you didnt post this when he pitched 6 innings and gave up just 2 runs his last start and didn’t post this when he pitched 6 innings and gave up just 1 run the start before that and didn’t post this when he pitched 6 shut out innings the start before that you wait until now lol you’re a clown. He’s had 2 bad starts and 4 starts where he gave up two or fewer runs. I guess when lieberatore finally has a clunker you will be posting I told you he wasn’t a starter hes a reliever what are the cards doing lol
Have to check my calendar.

IMO the Cards may need a vet in the 2026. IF so, he has decent value
in being that guy versus what the return in trade might be.
I have less concerns about the QO even when it's that high.
All it takes is his desire for more total value than $21 million or a location desire.
He's 33, it's getting late, 3 x $15 doubles that $21 million.
