Schenn, Binner, Dvorsky and Texier going to WC

This was announced this morning but hasn’t seen it posted here yet.

We knew Dvorsky and Texier were going but good to see Schenn and Binnington are joining them.

The Canada and Sweden rosters are both stacked.

It'll be great to see how Dvorsky plays against the competition, as IMO it's a good barometer of where he is or where he needs to be.

Agreed. This will be good experience for him. I just hope the Slovaks are at least competitive enough to even make that barometer judgment though. They open the tourney here in a couple hours at 1:20 vs Sweden.

Here’s Slovakia’s roster:

By comparison, here’s Sweden’s roster:

Dvorsky might just be the best player on Slovakia’s roster. Although I’m sure they have some decent grizzled vets that play in the various Euro leagues I’m not familiar with. I predict a bloodbath though. At least today. Slovakia should be able to complete against some of the middle tier teams and hopefully bet up on the likes of Austria, Latvia, France, Slovenia etc.

I hope Dvorsky and Texier crush it. I believe it would do wonders for their confidence. It's also extra games against good competition. That's free development if just a little bit. LGB!

Sweden beat Slovakia 5-0. Dvorsky centered the 2nd line. Played 14:11, 1 shot. Slovakia only mustered 15 shots total. Their next game is against Slovenia at 5:20 am on Sunday. But first Schenn, Binner and the rest of Canada get to destroy Slovenia first - 5:20am tomorrow.

Yeah, it should be good for them. France is going to get smoked though. But probably not as bad as teams like Hungry, Austria, Slovenia and Kazakhstan.

Since the team is so bad, stats probably won't tell the whole storyline. Are you going to watching his games?

Schenner...buddy you will be 34 in August, play a heavy game, and always seem to be nursing some sort of mystery injury. Maybe you should just go kick your feet up on the beach somewhere for a while...
