Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
I absolutely loved the guy but imo he shouldn't be coaching.

Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
Why? He reported what he knew to the hire ups. It's not his fault. Q got scapgoated and never should have been suspended imo. Ducks have some young talent and he will get them back on track. Blues never should have fired him when they didIsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑08 May 2025 10:05 am I absolutely loved the guy but imo he shouldn't be coaching.

I’m fine with Joel getting a 2nd chance. I think he should’ve done better in that situation and I think he played dumb/passed the buck a bit in trying to deflect blame but at the same time, I don’t think he’s a bad guy. And he’s a heck of a coach. That said, I’m glad we’re not the ones taking on that headache.

Pretty much the same. I just think his inaction and at best willing ignorance should have consequences. Same with Bowman and Cheveldayoff.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 May 2025 10:49 am I’m fine with Joel getting a 2nd chance. He’s had consequences though. Was fired from the Panthers, blackballed for a number of years now. Are you saying he should have more consequences?IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑08 May 2025 11:48 amPretty much the same. I just think his inaction and at best willing ignorance should have consequences. IMO, it’s the guys that were a bit higher up like Bowman that should’ve taken more of the fall. IMO, it was team president John McDonough that really orchestrated the coverup and correctly, he hasn’t worked in sports since to my knowledge.

Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
Yes. I find it ludicrous to believe he had no knowledge. He and everyone else around him ( Bowman, Chevy, McDonough) were complicit either willfully or through inaction of letting a predator move on to a another position with really devastating consequences. He placed his team and his ambition over doing the right thing. He will always be tarnished by that. I would never want him in a position of authority/decision making in my organization no matter how successful or good a coach. Sad to see it have happened to him.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 May 2025 11:52 amHe’s had consequences though. Was fired from the Panthers, blackballed for a number of years now. I'm just glad Army picked their pockets before he showed up.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 May 2025 10:49 am I’m fine with Joel getting a 2nd chance. Fowler for 40 slots in the draft order and a bag of pucks would have never happened under Q.

Q still comes off as turning a blind eye at best. He was an incredibly powerful voice in that room. You think he wouldn’t have made it a bigger issue if it involved one of the NHL roster guys and not one of the Black Aces? Please. If Kane had made the accusation you think Aldrich gets his picture with the Cup?BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑08 May 2025 13:10 pmEverything was reported to the players union.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑08 May 2025 11:48 amPretty much the same. Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
Why did Q then provide a glowing end of season recommendation for the guy after he left, and why did he not say anything when Aldrich started coaching kids, one of whom he then assaulted.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑08 May 2025 13:10 pmEverything was reported to the players union.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑08 May 2025 11:48 amPretty much the same. It’s fair to say Q wasn’t the only villain in this story, but he’s far from a hero, or even an innocent bystander
Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
The Blues had a number of players/coaches recently who committed criminal acts and even killed someone.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 May 2025 10:49 am I’m fine with Joel getting a 2nd chance. Not much of a headache imo
Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
Not sold on any halo he's tarnished for me.
If I give him the best benefit of doubt you can't tell me he doesn't have regrets on his handling of that mess.

WRONG... The Jenner and Block report on the 3rd party investigation concluded differently. I'm far from a Blackhawks fan, but it reads that Q and the rest of the senior staff were briefed right before the finals were about to start, and ALL FIVE don't recall being informed details about the incident, only that sexual misconduct was reported by the victim (Beach), and that the perpetrator (Aldrich) confirmed that an incident DID happen, but it was consensual. So at that point, it was a he said, he said...
Regardless, then President John McDonough told the entire senior staff that he would handle it from there, and they were to take no actions. How is Q responsible???

Don't take my word for it, read it yourself...

Re: Looks like Quenneville to the Ducks
Regardless of the action/no action speculation, the deal sealer for me was when Q got Beach’s endorsement to coach again. While it wasn’t required, I think it goes a long way for both of those two that they talked and addressed any issues they had between each other.
