Kinda cool, but seems like it should have an S on the end. Mammoths is better. Like Cardinals, BlackHawks, MapleLeafs. As in a group. Not an individual wooly.

Nothing captures the dynamic of Ice Hockey so well as an extinct lumbering pachyderm.

Yes. I think so. But that Mammoth looks pretty cool on their sweater.

I like it. I'd think it'd be hard to come up with an identity for Utah. Mormon? As far as the 'S' at the end, isn't Mammoth one of those plurals in a singular?

What's wrong w/ a Ute warrior in full dress & war paint as a logo ?

Image

Oh wait... (but actually totally bad@ss)

Here's an 'utterly intolerable & racist' logo which should long-since have been abolished (except for the fact that absolutely no one minds - just look at those feet, will ya ?) :

Blues is plural in my mind. A player on the Blues is a Blue, right.
The name Wild and Avalanche are just dumb sounding and too year 2000-ish singular for me. Like one player on the Wild, is a wild? WTF?

I like the old group of animals type names best.

I was holding out for 'The Fighting Mormons' - they could take the ND logo and slightly re-work it to suit. You can't swing a cat without hitting 10 Mormons in Utah.

Actually, the pioneers would have been a very cool, historically accurate & respectful concept - those people were TOUGH. Something like this, just with skates, perhaps more wives per pioneer :

I like the logo/name - but did stumble across a funny tiktok about a guy who made a point that virtually all sports logos designed since 93 are side view, usually of animals. Jacksonville Jaguars, Philly Eagles, Carolina Panthers, Patriots, Ravens, Broncos, Wild, Coyotes, etc.

Mammoth fall in that trend. Not promoting any conspiracy theory, but kind of interesting.
