Torey Krug Appreciation Thread

Post by Army's Mom »

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that signing
Used to make me smile
And I knew if he had the chance
That Krug could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But his broken ankle made me shiver
With every stop he couldn't deliver
The goals and points had dried up
He couldn't skate one more lap
I'm pretty sure I could've cried
When I read 'bout how his ligaments dried
And then something let his cap hit slide
The day his career died

So, bye-bye, Mr. Torey Krug guy
Drove the Thomas to the wall when he was just a young fry
Then they became friends, while the Bruins cried
Singing "Why can't that Binnington die"
"Why can't that Binnington die"

Ill also say bye to the midget named Torey,
Small, overrated…that’s the end of the story.
Offensive gameplans smiled when he played,
What points he put up would continually fade.
40 point seasons are usually real nice,
Till you realize opponents scored more with him on ice.
So in closing ill say this while adjusting my jockstrap,
No thanks for the memories, but for the LTIR cap.

Still remember "we can't leave him exposed for entry draft because no one will ever sign here again." How different a team would we have been with Vince Dunn - granted he got paid (and maybe overpaid) but still a better route not taken.

Hey, hey Torry,
I want to get rid of you.
Hey, hey Torry,
Anyone else will surely do.
We've waited so long,
For your contract to be through.
Now we have to wait no more for you.
You're done. You're done.

Nicely done! One of my favorite songs and love that Don McLean won't explain the meaning leaving it up to us to interpret.

I know you should root for the front of the jersey, not the back, but I never forgot the charge on Thomas in the finals.

That said, if I recall correctly, that charge was precipitated by his getting mad cuz Frenchie was teabagging him … which is a lovely memory.

So it goes.
