Their Guy Was Really Good

Post by Talkin' Baseball »

Their guy was really good, but our guy was a little bit better. One more inning pitched, one less walk, 2 more strikeouts, and (drumroll, please) one less run allowed. I hope we can look back and say that was a statement win for Liberatore. That's when he became the pitcher that can lead a staff. And, credit where credit is due, the whole pitching performance is wasted if not for Burleson's double.

Liberatore:

6+ IP in 6 of 7 starts. Only start that he did not was bitten by rain.

5 QS’s in 7 starts

He has now outdueled Zack Wheeler and Paul Skenes and pitched well against Kodai Senga

2.30 FIP
0.95 WHIP
1.3 BB/9 - lowest in the league
3.07 ERA

Time will tell, but everything you mention is the profile of a true #1.
