Game 7 Loss
I know everyone has been focused on a few plays in the dying mins of game 7 that could have altered how the game finished but the real cause is the Blues got away from their consistent forecheck that they had going in the 1st period. Schenn,Thomas, Kyrou, Buch, Bolduc, combined for 3 hits. For the Jets they had no one with zero hits. Elhers, Perfetti and Connor combined for 12 hits. Their entire forward group was committed to forechecking and that’s how they gained their momentum.
Re: Game 7 Loss
Kyrou has been weak on the puck his entire career. He doesn't hit. He's a hell of a goal scorer when he's not touched, but I get tired of this guy. It's like he has no muscle at all.
I have no clue why the other guys weren't hitting, especially Bolduc and Buch.

I think they fell into the play it safe trap not wanting to make a mistake. Hopefully next year they look at how the Jets played right to the end to learn from. The Jets were also losing right to the end of the 3rd so they had no choice. Kyrou yeah I’m not sure.

I think the thing that burns my ace the most about the loss is simply how we lost not only did we blow the lead. With the tie at 1.6 in regulation.... It wasn't the young guys who cost us this game it was the vets.. Bolduc nor snuggy had their best game in game 7 hell I think bolduc only had 10 and a half mins played by midway through the third. They are not the ones that didn't skate the puck up the ice or pin it to the boards etc it was the buchnevichs faulks etc...

Agreed. But know everyone said this experience was good for the 1st time playoff players but I don’t think even Buch and Faulk have played many games like this series. Even Thomas and Kyrou in their previous games weren’t the main targets for other teams. Fowler had 7-8 years since being in the playoffs.
I think it was the 2019 run that Petro made a couple clearing errors in the first round or second round that ended up in a goal or two and by the 3rd round the team wasn’t making those plays anymore.

Re: Game 7 Loss
The problem was the Blues couldn't get the puck to the net. You had a shaky goalie and the Blues didn't test him enough. Jets did a heck of a job protecting him and blocking shots but the big reason the Blues didn't finish this game off is because they didn't work hard enough to get the puck on net and they passed the puck one too many times instead of firing it on net. They could of finished Hellebuyck off but instead gave his confidence a boost as the game got longer.

The Jets have been a top-notch team for years. They learned from consecutive playoff upsets what not to do at crunch time. They used the home ice advantage that they earned quite well.
No disgrace.
They were way overdue.
We learned from it, just like they did.

I have no shame in saying Im still piiiissed at how the Blues choked the game and series away. If you’re a passionate fan who loves their team, I would expect many to feel the same way. The players and coaches feel the same way as I do, probably more since they actually had their blood sweat and tears invested in it and I only had the tears invested
But in due time the disappointment will wear off, and if there’s tangible lessons they’ve learned during that whole clusterphuck that are applied to upcoming seasons, then the short term pain will be tolerable for the longterm gain, and Im still gonna be a loyal passionate fan through thick and thin.

I'm in your boat. I'm still getting sick thinking about how they just gave it away with multiple dumb plays in the last 3 minutes. That said it will pass and we'll get excited about the path forward and how the team will hopefully grow and improve.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑07 May 2025 10:34 am I have no shame in saying Im still piiiissed at how the Blues choked the game and series away. As to the Blues not forechecking, I think some of that is the Jets playing better and some of it not wanting to get into situations that a penalty could be called. It was conservative but worked until the last couple of minutes. To the extent they could have stayed more on their toes, I would have preferred it as well.

Yes ...I hope these threads eventually die.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑07 May 2025 10:34 am I have no shame in saying Im still piiiissed at how the Blues choked the game and series away. Some can talk about it for a long time I guess....each has their own limit...I'm not one of them.
Good last comment there...it's where I'm at......learn, grow and get better.
