He is the prototype for Army’s international type of player. Army longs for the day when ALL NHL players are Jordan Kyrou. Mark my word: Monty will be fired before Kyrou is traded.
Just ask my sock, Douglas Armstrong.

No-trade-clauses can be gotten around easily enough. Armstrong would trade his mother with a NTC. Just ask Saad. A little public humiliation and private arm-twisting is all that it takes. If you recall, Armstrong was actively pursuing a trade of our Captain with a NTC just moments before our playoff run.

If Armstrong doesn't trade Kyrou, it's because it can't be done without also bringing humiliation to Armstrong.

He cut Brandon Saad. Not long after his hat trick.
Cutting Saad was the last piece of the puzzle. It guarantied second line minutes for Holloway.
If it helps them win, he will be ruthless.

This is faulty thinking IMO.

Here are DA's Kyrou options, and I believe that DA was staring these option in the face at the trade deadline 2 months ago.

1. Trade Kyrou, and get a 3rd-rounder in return.

2. Keep Kyrou.

Option 1 would generate a.serious hit to Army's reputation. How do you tell the owner that a very highly-compensated player is only worth that much in the eyes of other teams?

Complicating matters for Army....
Kyrou had a very lousy showing in the playoffs. His trade value is even worse now than it was at the trade deadline.

My guess is that we are stuck with Kyrou. The only way to get rid of him now is some kind of package deal where his exact value is concealed.
A third round pick for Kyrou.

70 points last season Kyrou. 67 points prior season Kyrou.

This might top your other illustrious comment how DA literally doesn't want a top 10 pick because he is too afraid to actually pick one.

You said that. You believe that. And now this....a 3rd for JK.

I'll rest my case on your hockey knowledge right here.

Thanks
I agree that ASOGG is a Troll, if not a sock of the King Rat Troll.

However, being called out by the Network Guys for lack of compete in a Game Seven?
That is dreadful... He deserved it, sadly.
Two assists in 28 Playoff Games?
That is below abysmal. Texier had one in his three game stint as Blue.
The only Blues with zero assists in this series were-
Joseph 3 GP
Tucker 3 GP
Binnington Goalie
Kyrou

He sucked and he sucked very, very hard.
Why must I clear the puck successfully again?

I am Douglas P. Armstrong's sock. How many times must I tell you?

He/I told you that "things aren't changing, and the players who have been here the longest are to blame".

Then he told us that he could get NOTHING for the long-time players that he wanted to dump.

Put two and two and Kyrou together, folks.

Signed
ASOGG and Douglas P Army
Let me help nudge this along. The six players "who have been here the longest" are:

Parayko (2015)
Binnington (2016/2019)
Schenn (2017)
Sundqvist (2017/2023)
Thomas/Kyrou (2018)

Keep in mind, in early 2019 Army said he was ready to break up the team but they started winning when Binnington was called up. This team started winning after the 4Nations tournament.

Bingo. The mind is a beautiful thing to see in action.

Given that the playoffs revealed that the players who have been here the longest did almost nothing in the playoffs, here is my analysis of the current situation.

1. The Armstrong bullseye on the back of Kyrou just got bigger. Unfortunately, Kyrou's trade value went down as a result of his playoff performance.
2. Parayko and Binnington are safe. The bullseye was never on their back.
3. Sundqvist - Sundqvist loses his spot due to age, nothing else.
4. Schenn also had a bullseye on his back and it too has gotten bigger. Unfortunately for Armstrong, Schenn is a fighter. We saw that in the playoff hits, and it was even more evident in his fight with Armstrong at the trade deadline. He had a NTC, and Armstrong can go to h____ before he would give it up.

So we will see soon if my ruthless sock puppet will do anything about the long-term players that are still not making a difference (Schenn, Kyrou).

Schenn made a difference. Ask any Jet what their thoughts were off Schenn. Watch the handshake lineup. Compare how people react to Schenn and watch the difference how they are with Kyrou.

Any assist Kyrou gets is a bonus as being a playmaker is not his job. I’d rather have him shooting than dishing.

FWIW the TMA text line wants Kyrou gone. I would bet 75% of the fan base see's that he is not built for playoff hockey

You've officially lost all Kyrou debates in perpetuity, with this absurdly stupid comment defending 2 measly assists in 28 playoff games.

F'ing Garth Butcher has a higher assist rate in the playoffs. That's not an exaggeration, but a sobering fact.

Ok sparky. Whatever you say

If he were passing and getting assists you all would be yelling why doesn’t he shoot more??

Not to be too reductionist but:

THE OBJECTIVE OF HOCKEY IS TO PUT THE PUCK IN THE NET

KYROU PUTS THE PUCK IN THE NET BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE ON THIS TEAM

Without Kyrou this entire discussion is moot because the Blues don't get anywhere near the playoffs anyway. No player is untradeable, but I have yet to year a proposed trade involving Kyrou that would make me even the slightest bit interested.

Um, the Blues outscored the Jets in this series. Might be more to that "objective" than what you have there.

In this years playoffs, Kyrou - in 7 games - had 3 points. (3 goals / 0 assists) He was outscored by:

Fowler, Thomas, Buchnevich, Neighbors, Parayko, Faksa, Snuggerud, Torpochencko and Walker. Out of that group, only Neighbors was a minus player at -2.

Need to look at and compare the 5 man units to be fair.

I would trade Kyrou in a deal involving Power for sure. Outside of that, I am not sure what is out there so very tough to speculate.
