MM's head has to be swimming.
What does this kid have to do to get his shot?
(Yea, yea I know patience.....he'll get his shot...blah, blah, blah)
But glad GG is back, I think he could be of value out of the pen'.

there's more of a need in saving arms until Thursday's off day, Rock. I have no problem with this move. It's the smart move.rockondlouie wrote: ↑05 May 2025 14:37 pm MM's head has to be swimming.

McGreevy and Graceffo had to be told what was going to happen entering this season.
I wish the fans would let this unfold instead seeking Drama that doesn't exist.

and...According to John Denton....there's no rush on Ivan Herrera's rehab. He experienced a little discomfort after catching on Friday, as well as some soreness while on base.
For now...the Rehab continues

#STLCards catcher Iván Herrera (left knee bone bruise) experienced some knee soreness after catching on Friday and there is still
some shakiness while running the bases, manager Oli Marmol said. The team isn’t overly worried, but it could delay his return to STL by a day or two.

There’s no reason to put McGreevy back in Memphis. He fits two important qualifications for the 2025 season: (1) he’s definitely a “runway” talent, and (2) the Cardinals are 5-0 when he pitches in a regular-season game.craviduce wrote: ↑05 May 2025 14:44 pmthere's more of a need in saving arms until Thursday's off day, Rock. Memphis, anyone? Clearly Pallante needs to regroup, which is fine. And McGreevy is already here to take the next start. But would anyone be surprised to see McGreevy shipped out? The answer, of course, is: HELL, NO. And sure enough the Cardinals returned McGreevy to Memphis on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals may not be the smartest baseball team around – but at least they’re predictable. --Bernie
This is my position as well.
Re: Monday Transactions. Gordon Graceffo is Greedy
Rock, why are you trying to compete in a season, when we've all known for over 6 months that we weren't going to compete?? When they're ready to put McGreevy into the rotation for good, they'll do it. We're stuck, and we've known this, with contracts. Contracts that fans want to eat and throw away. It's not our money, we don't care.rockondlouie wrote: ↑06 May 2025 08:34 amThere’s no reason to put McGreevy back in Memphis. Just let this play out. They're not screwing over McGreevy, they've probably planned this out for while. He knows what is going on, we don't. And certainly not a journalist who only survives off the chaos that may or may not exist...and is usually flamed by his words than actual events.

I worry about a young player like McG getting frustrated knowing he's done everything right and deserves to be in MLB duce.craviduce wrote: ↑06 May 2025 09:02 amRock, why are you trying to compete in a season, when we've all known for over 6 months that we weren't going to compete?? I saw an interview w/him this weekend where he said he knew he could "throw 100 mph in spring training and they'd still send him down".
And he said this with a smile, but with a scowl. You could see he was not happy about the way he was being handled.
Pallante has regressed this season and is getting worse w/each outing, he needs to go to Memphis.
We'll just agree to disagree here as I think McG has earned the right to be here and starting while Pallante shouldn't be given carte blance to "figure it out" up here.

I dont know. McGreevy was very disappointed that he didnt make the OD Roster after what they had been told in the off season, having a nice callup last season, and a fantastic spring.craviduce wrote: ↑05 May 2025 14:44 pmthere's more of a need in saving arms until Thursday's off day, Rock. How could he not be when he's dominated (albet a SSS) in every MLB start last season and now long relief.
I remember a young Adam Wainwright getting frustrated w/Mo too when he felt (RIGHTFULLY!) he should've been in St. Louis and not AAA anymore.
Re: Monday Transactions. Gordon Graceffo is Greedy
this was never about if he belongs or not --- they know he does. it is about covering bullpen innings after he threw 5 innings on sunday --- they need an arm they can use thru wednesday and as Crav stated, both MM and GG know what is going on... at least i hope they do.rockondlouie wrote: ↑06 May 2025 09:09 amI worry about a young player like McG getting frustrated knowing he's done everything right and deserves to be in MLB duce.craviduce wrote: ↑06 May 2025 09:02 amRock, why are you trying to compete in a season, when we've all known for over 6 months that we weren't going to compete?? If he is that mentally weak where he does anything other than let it fuel him to be better then he will never be good in the majors if he lets adversity derail him. Donovan got beat in arbitration did he pout? Oh no he came out of the gate running this season and is going to make sure he doesnt lose again. McGreevy can go down and do well and show yes he is ready or he can go down be mentally weak suck and show he is not ready mentally for any adversityrockondlouie wrote: ↑06 May 2025 09:09 amI worry about a young player like McG getting frustrated knowing he's done everything right and deserves to be in MLB duce.craviduce wrote: ↑06 May 2025 09:02 amRock, why are you trying to compete in a season, when we've all known for over 6 months that we weren't going to compete?? When they're ready to put McGreevy into the rotation for good, they'll do it. We're stuck, and we've known this, with contracts. Contracts that fans want to eat and throw away. It's not our money, we don't care.rockondlouie wrote: ↑06 May 2025 08:34 amThere’s no reason to put McGreevy back in Memphis. I have no problem with this move. It's the smart move.rockondlouie wrote: ↑05 May 2025 14:37 pm MM's head has to be swimming.
What does this kid have to do to get his shot?
(Yea, yea I know patience.....he'll get his shot...blah, blah, blah)
But glad GG is back, I think he could be of value out of the pen'.
McGreevy and Graceffo had to be told what was going to happen entering this season.
I wish the fans would let this unfold instead seeking Drama that doesn't exist.
Just let this play out. They're not screwing over McGreevy, they've probably planned this out for while. He knows what is going on, we don't. And certainly not a journalist who only survives off the chaos that may or may not exist...and is usually flamed by his words than actual events.
