Keep hitting HRs .. Very important !

Post by ramfandan »

Last night , the Cards hit 3 HR's which was the difference in the game .

The top 3 teams in HRs .. Yankees 58 , Dodgers 56, and Cubs 54 all lead their divisions.
The Mariners 49 and Tigers 47 4th & 5th respectively in HR's also are 1st place in their divisions too.

The Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers have scored the most runs in MLB . Surprise Surprise Those homers score a ton of runs !

In 2024 , the Cardinals ranked 21st in HRs and in 2025 they have improved ranking 17th .
Go Cards !

Great to see.
Contreras goes on a heater.
Burleson finally finds some slug with his stroke.
Barrero is still only 27 yrs. old. Wouldn't it be something if he finally unlocks more of his significant potential?

We need to bad mouth Burly some more, seemed to fire him up. Two homers since the thread about how long it had been since he'd hit one. Keep it up Burly

Ha, kinda funny but Burly is doing just about what I expected/predicted last week, which was to start hitting better just when some start saying you might as well take a fan out of the stands to hit in his place. Ebbs and flows with all players, but at the end of the day your career numbers have some gravity when you're over 1,000 PA's. The .650 to .750 OPS range seems to be the median for his gravity. The upper range is OK, the lower end where's he's at now isn't. Unless he can become a +.800 OPS guy, and maybe he could with some home ballparks as his fallback, but his lack of plate discipline currently holds him back.
