Islanders win draft lottery
Islanders win the lottery.
Utah also moved up to #4. Looks like Schaefer to the Islanders and Misa to the Sharks now

Re: Islanders win draft lottery
Wow. The Isles had a 3.5% chance of winning. Same odds the Blues had 2 years ago oddly enough..
And Utah only had a 1.5% shot.
In any event, glad the Blackhawks won’t be getting either Schaefer or Misa. Those two look like absolute future studs.

Yep, glad Blackhawks can’t get one of those no brainer picks now

I'll go ahead and complete the story...
Islander and Utah fans now have can't-miss fun and excitement for 10 years. Jerseys are flying off the shelves. Kids are talking about it in school.
Meanwhile in St Louis, 10-year old kids are just happy that the franchise is not moving to Saskatoon because the owners made the playoff bounty.

Re: Islanders win draft lottery
The only selections that are MORE likely to miss are those after pick 10. Those guys have a 95% chance of only a short career in the AHL. Despite this fact, please note that BluesTalk is all aglow about the 10 Blues prospects of that sort. Do you want to tell the poor b____, or do you want me to do it?netboy65 wrote: ↑05 May 2025 19:20 pmCan’t miss you say?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 18:57 pm I'll go ahead and complete the story...

Re: Islanders win draft lottery
So your plan revolves around hoping and praying we win a 3.5% or 1.5% lottery? In fact, the Blues already did exactly this. Two years ago, they entered the lottery in the 10th spot, same as the Isles here today…except the 96.5% of them not winning happened.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 18:57 pm I'll go ahead and complete the story...

I get that. I know that there are no guarantees. Plus, I'm fully aware that the NHL backroom cigar smoke never seems to drift to St Louis.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑05 May 2025 19:29 pmSo your plan revolves around hoping and praying we win a 3.5% or 1.5% lottery? Why do I b_____? I want St Louis kids (like myself) to be treated to the same NHL draft excitement as other cities. I hate that every year, the top 20 names go elsewhere.
Re: Islanders win draft lottery
So you’re hoping for this excitement every year? Wouldn’t that mean the team is awful every year? My my, you’re right, how excitinga smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 19:46 pmI get that. they need to change this sh11t so the odds get away from tanking leaders like Chicago.

No. Not every year. Just at the same pace as Dallas, Colorado, Washington and most of the other playoff teams.netboy65 wrote: ↑05 May 2025 19:49 pmSo you’re hoping for this excitement every year? Re: Islanders win draft lottery
I would love a mini playoff for the non-playoff teams for draft position

lol @ happy for San Jose - they're doing the same thing that Chicago did by selling off all assets to bottom out.dhsux wrote: ↑05 May 2025 20:09 pmHappy for both franchises.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑05 May 2025 18:27 pm Islanders win the lottery.

The top 20 names go elsewhere every year? Just two years ago a top 10 name came to the Blues. Last year, top 16. This year, top 19.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 19:46 pmI get that.
