Now his ERA is 4.66. He's given up 2 runs in his last 16 innings.... Zero in his last 11.1. He may not be washed up yet.JohnTudor1985 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 19:42 pm MM's ERA:
2023 4.78
2024 5.35
2025 11.25
It's going to be tough selling tickets after this series.

But in 2 future starts if he gives up 10 runs in 4 innings you will be calling for his release.Goldfan wrote: ↑05 May 2025 08:50 amYou mean his 1.98ERA from 3 starts last season that was lowered last night?![]()

Mikolas will be either dealt at the deadline or walk after the season.
Matz probably gone likewise?
McGreevy probably next up followed by Mathews/Graceffo/etc
I get posters anxious to move on.
Need a little patience.
Actually.... except for the complete drubbing he took in Boston MM has pitched very well(2.40 ERA five starts!)
If that continues he could certainly be moved at the deadline.
They are stuck paying him and it makes no sense to cut him and eat millions.
Moving to the BP is always an option but his trade value will be higher as a starter if he continues to be solid.
All would be less valuable if sent to MiLB
I chuckle a bit because.
What I expected?- Mikolas to be mediocre and throwing softballs up there. Matz to be off and injured and inconsistent because of the time off.
What has happened?(So far)- Mikolas except for one drubbing has pitched well. Matz is healthy(so far) and has been good out of BP and starting.
I know many want the Cards to move on. It is coming and doesn’t need to happen in May.
Those two make $30M between them why eat it for nothing?

That’s an average. How many of his starts were good, vs 1stinker?scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025 22:26 pm So you think a pitcher with a 4 ERA will be better at MLB level...that's some sound logic.
Good for you.
