The Playoff Reports Cards are here!
Fowler/Faksa - A+
Both are great players that stepped up in the playoffs. And this was EXACTLY why I screamed when Armstrong added them to the team. Neither will be with us when the rest of the team is ready to compete for a CUP. In the end, adding them to the team, only served 2 purposes: a) spoiling our draft position, and COVERING UP THE MESS OF A ROSTER that Armstrong has created.
Thomas, Kyrou, Buchnevich, Neighbors/Bolduc/Faulk - C
Players stepping DOWN, not UP for the playoffs. Never has so few goals been scored against a worthless goalie. Our best players were not just outscored by Winnipeg's best players, they were also outscored by our 3rd and 4th line players. Welcome to Doug Armstrong-ville. To find the most worthless Blues players, just do a player list descending sort by salary and length of contract. There are no trains out of Doug Armstrong-ville for many years. Prepare for mediocrity.
Snuggerud - B
Exciting player that has very good skills and hockey sense. He had the fastest time shot in the playoffs. Shows good promise for future.
Broberg/Holloway - A
Broberg was +9. His play in the offensive zone, was a highlight of the playoffs. I'm looking forward to watching him.
Though Holloway didn't play, I'll assume his good play would have continued.
Army sure does know how to steal players off an NHL roster. He doesn't know how to build a roster the traditional way, but he can surely rob a bank.
Toropchenko/Walker - A
Stepped up. +7/+5
Parayko/Suter/Sundqvist - B+
They didn't step up or down, but steady and good.
Schenn - C
The first Captain in NHL history to be -5 for a playoff series. Is it a positive for a Captain to have the most penalty minutes in a series by far?
Schenn is the Captain of Armstrong-ville, and in this role, he is perfect.
Leddy - F
The posterchild for Doug Armstrong-ville. -4
Binnington - A+
The only reason that we had chance in the playoffs
Did I miss anyone of value? There are a lot of pedestrians on the sidelines in Armstrong-villle that I can't remember.

Re: The Playoff Reports Cards are here!
Actually pretty fair grades.
I wouldn't include Bolduc in the group of mediocrity. Yes, he was invisible but he's a rookie and was sort of marginilized once Holloway exited the line-up. Opponents did a good job of neutralizing him once he became a threat and wasn't able to adjust. He plays with much needed physicality and has an elite scorers touch. Let's see what he does with an off-season to get stronger and figure out how to counter what defenses did to him.

Really? Holloway? That's your gripe?MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑05 May 2025 10:22 amNot really, I think its pretty far from it for people like Holloway. How can you give him a playoff grade of A when he didn't play in the playoffs? I think maybe an I would be better here.
Maybe re-read
"Though Holloway didn't play, I'll assume his good play would have continued."
Maybe enlighten the crowd with your more accurate grades for the players that played.

Is Theograce Kyrou's sock puppet? Does he avoid the next hit, by skating the other way?theograce wrote: ↑05 May 2025 10:21 amExplaining to you takes time. You’re calling Kyrou soft and giving Broberg an Aa smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 10:30 amIs Theograce Kyrou's sock puppet? Maybe reread the title or perhaps change it to season grade after play offs then I agree with you.

Re: The Playoff Reports Cards are here!
I notice that no one disputes my grades.
For those who think that it is must be hell to have a Hellebuyck on your team... Please take note. The Blues now have 5 or 6 Hellebuycks on their roster, playing all over the ice....
I'm glad that we made the playoffs so that we could learn that.

Re: The Playoff Reports Cards are here!
Three players in the top 4 in points for the team, with more points than games, get a C???
No way.
No way.

In case you haven't figured this out your Broberg schtick isn't selling. The young man was an absolute steady stud on defense, and the analytics support that.theograce wrote: ↑05 May 2025 10:31 amYou’re calling Kyrou soft and giving Broberg an Aa smell of green grass wrote: ↑05 May 2025 10:30 amIs Theograce Kyrou's sock puppet? Kings gave Rob Blake a F(aulk) for the playoffs
The Los Angeles Kings will not bring back Rob Blake, the team's general manager and vice president of hockey operations, after a fourth straight first-round playoff exit.

Re: The Playoff Reports Cards are here!
Totally agree.
Further, Broberg is undoubtedly a potential part of a Cup-winning team (4 years). I can see him on it, easily.
Across our roster, there are very few such players.
Snuggerud
Toropchenko
Holloway
Binnington
Broberg
Parayko and Thomas (Maybe)
