Probably doesn't even crack the top 5 in hockey. Plenty of multi-game chokes out there in hockey where a team had multiple games worth of opportunity to close it out and did not. I'd argue the Presidents trophy blues team was the biggest choke a blues team has had to be quite honest.

It’s a brutal loss but you’re talking about losing in Double OT to the President’s Trophy winner. The specific context of the game was a choke, sure, but the Jets were heavily favored going in. They were supposed to win. Heck even with the win Hellebuyck might have played himself out of the Olympics net because he was just so bad this series.

This wasn't a choke.

This was the teams leadership sitting down.

The real context of their opponent was. A 3-3 team without their best player, and a scared goaler. Playing with 5 defenders and a beat up group. The only game they had, was the game we have them.

As we all know. And many that pushed playoffs stated. Having the best regular season, means nothing in the playoffs.

While I enjoyed the playoffs, and happy to have watched them play. I don't forget that when a team feels they are better then they really are and they stop building, to start competing. They get called a Buffalo or Detroit, Their plan to build with talent becomes the fall guy of those that yearn for immediate satisfaction.

Here we go into year 7AC and those that encouraged this have gave their excuses, laughed at the realist for their passion and are set up to do another year of hard work that always gives up before talent breaks down.

So while dougie made some good moves this past year. They couldn't replace his major mistakes and we will continue. With his plan of hard work, that makes one feel good about being losers.

Not even sure it ranks in the top 3 of this NHL postseason. Blues never led in the series. Kings and Wild squandered series leads, the wild lost 3 straight, kings lost 4 straight. The Avalanche game 7 choke was even more shocking then the Blues.

Blues weren't even supposed to be here.

Heading into Game 6, Chicago led the series 3-2 but found themselves trailing 2-1 late in the third period, with Boston on the verge of forcing a Game 7 back at the United Center. The TD Garden crowd was electric, sensing another Bruins comeback.

With Corey Crawford pulled for the extra skater and just 76 seconds left, Jonathan Toews set up Bryan Bickell, who scored to tie the game. Moments later, Dave Bolland scored on a rebound off a Johnny Oduya shot to give the Blackhawks the lead. The two goals, scored just 17 seconds apart, stunned the Bruins and their home crowd at TD Garden.

The silence said it all. A game that had seemed destined for overtime—or even a decisive Game 7—was decidedly so, over. In a matter of seconds the Blackhawks had clinched their second Stanley Cup in three years while rewriting their history with Boston at the same time.

No team in NHL history had ever won a Stanley Cup-clinching game in regulation after trailing in the final two minutes. Bolland’s goal still stands as the latest Cup-clinching goal in regulation on record.
