Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Good morning.
Well boys you’re gonna get your wish. They both will be traded. And better yet, the reset will be almost complete in phase one- rid self of contracts. Nado is only one left.
We are talking two starters here, not pen arms. Great for a team in the hunt needing a four/five innings eater.
If Bloom is a stud, he should steal here. Just think, rid self of contracts, meaning new money to spend on two studs. AND getting prime cut prospects in return.
The perfect reset scenerio.

Step out of the shed. Lizard King and Matz are not bringing a haul.
Neither is GoNado.

Optimist.
Re: Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Not a ‘haul,’ but they currently have trade value. Which is nice.

Blinded by the light. Mik last four games 5.1 IP 4.25 hits 1.5 BB that would work on a good team.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:18 am Step out of the shed. Lizard King and Matz are not bringing a haul.
Matz is a coveted lefty. On contract year. [shirt] don’t hurt as bad.
Haul- top level prospects to support the reset. Bonus- bye bye 30M hello stud in off season.
Re: Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Their value is higher today. I would think though that guys of their caliber are going closer to trade deadline. Teams with a specific need to fill lower end of rotation or middle relief will be the suitors. My concern is what the stats look like in July.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:21 amBlinded by the light. We shall see. These fools are dumb enough to believe this team is good and keep them.

Again we must come back to the adage of- timing is everything. You trade now you get now value, which will be less than at deadline; or you wait and pray they hold value, making them even more desirable.Jatalk wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:31 amTheir value is higher today. Re: Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Exactly. Let’s say in theory the wanted to off load four contracts this past off season. They got rid of one. They couldn’t trade Matz or Mik due to being underwater.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:38 amThis. Yes they return a lesser prospect or two. But at least they don't cost to trade.
Now they have value, you rid 30M, AND you get top level prospects.
Re: Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Yep, and add Fedde to that. Then there's Helsley and Arenado. Going to be interesting.AZ_Cardsfan wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:38 amThis. Yes they return a lesser prospect or two. But at least they don't cost to trade.
Will the 2nd half starting rotation be: Gray, Libs, Pallante, Mathews and McGreevy?
With a scary BP, and NOT the good scary.

Yes sir. All that new money and top level prospects. If Bloom is really a godsend, then it could be something.JDW wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:43 amYep, and add Fedde to that. Re: Mik and Matz will bring a haul.
Mikolas has to waive the NTC, perhaps he will knowing the Cardinals aren't going to give him a new contract?
Matz should be in HIGH demand since he's been healthy and very good at both spot starting and especially as a LHRP (hello Mets?).
Mo needs to get off his lazy a z z and start marketing these two (if Mikolas agrees to waive) along w/Helsley (DBacks?) and Fedde.

Look at it this way- trade Nado, Helsley, Fedde Matz Mik. That’s five starters. That’s ten prospects. Top level.rockondlouie wrote: ↑04 May 2025 08:58 am Mikolas has to waive the NTC, perhaps he will knowing the Cardinals aren't going to give him a new contract?

And you replace these five trades players basically from in house. Plus prospects.
Huge endeavor.

Sounds like you are backing up the truck for loading quite the ‘haul’ !
