I've been told that the other team is focusing on Kyrou, and that is allowing other Blues players to score. I assumed that meant that Kryou was +5, but he is -5. "-5" means that Kyrou is drawing attention to himself in his own D-Zone.
Good lord. They meant other lines are getting more freedom to score. So it wouldn't affect his +/-. This really isn't this complicated.

Kyrou has as many points this series as times you've promised to leave and then come back.

Why would you want to see that?
I don't believe he is a complete player and what I see confirms that. Could be what is called confirmation bias where you see what you want to see.

Hard to dismiss it when he shies from contact and avoids hits. You have to take and give hits, especially in the playoffs and the guys that are doing that have to resent it. If your linemates have to concentrate on setting you up constantly it takes away from their shooting percentage and makes you more predictable which is bad.

What I would REALLY like to see is for Kyrou to become a complete team player. It happened before- especially right after they got rid of Chief but it never lasts.

Final grades are not in yet. Kyrou's current grade...

Lack of scoring against Hellebuyck; Lack of impact beyond scoring; Best players have to step up, not down - D+

He has got to get his chin up off the ice and be a man. He is the same height and six lousy pounds lighter than Holloway, and probably slightly faster. He is taller than Faulk.
He has done it before, and his team needs him to do it again, tomorrrow.
I’ll take Monty’s word for it

He knows he has to cave in to Kyrou's needs.
At first, anyway.
It just might work...
Snuggerud is about a hundred times more mentally tough than JK is right now. Snuggerud will play like it's Game fricking Seven... no matter who is on his line.

Buchnevich might remind Kyrou that getting his nose dirty is a good thing today.

Do you have the lotto numbers? It’s amazing you know what everyone is thinking or their mental state.
Remind me again, where was he on Schenn’s goal last Sunday when he got popped in the mouth on his follow thru? Oh yeah, in the crease. Seems like that’s the dirty areas to me

Do you see his fearful turnovers near their blue line?
Do you see him coast, when a hard stride could negate a critical icing call?

How do you excuse Kyrou’s regressed performance in a Stanley Cup series?

I cannot excuse it, but my explanation is that he has given up on 90% of his shifts because he cannot get over the loss of Holloway.
That reveals a lack of desire and mental toughness.
His attitude seems to exclaim “ what’s the use, Holloway is gone”.

What are you seeing that I am not?
A single instance of banging the crease is … not enough from where I stand.
How could you count on him these days, if he were on your line?

I hope he is like the Newt in the Holy Grail film, and “gets better”.

Key words in your diatribe are “my explanation” and “seems” neither of which is remotely close to fact. (To be fair neither is anything I’d come up with either) I can virtually guarantee that he’s not pouting over the loss of Holloway.
We will just have to see what happens tonight.

Hopefully he shows up tonight.

How many goals can the so-called 4th line score?

Maybe its Kyrou's turn to score a couple and get us to the next round.

Kyrou has had a few gritty plays this series but he just doesn’t battle hard enough consistently to be counted on game in game out. The game changes in the playoffs. It a much more grinding along the walls, battling on the lines type game where every small play gets magnified and could change a game or series. This is his first playoff experience being one of the main players to be counted on. He has the skill. He has the speed. He has improved defensively this year. Now he needs to get that mentality that he can drive through a check and come out with the puck or pinch guys off at the board like he did in game 1 once. The once is the issue. Doesn’t need to throw big hits. Needs to be physical on guys and pinch them off at least. Whatever he’s going through he will hopefully use that as motivation to prepare for next year. I have no issue with his production. His compete needs to hit another level. Maybe we see that today.

He’s more concerned with potential draft picks.
