There was a lot of discussion that he could have come back in March but they did not have the cap space. They learned from Vegas how to play the system so glad it did not help them.

He hadn't played since *2022* so in this case I'm not terribly worried that they timed his return to their advantage.

Happy to see the Avs lose, even if by some chance we win the series and face the stars who have had our number, i would rather be guaranteed that the Avalanche get knocked out of the playoffs than hope that the blues or winnipeg dispatch them. Dislike Benn, but benn has last money and less ego than the family that owns the Avs, so he takes a back seat.

As for Landeskog, meh. I don't think the person was suggesting he thought the injury was fake to begin with, just the timing of the return with the cap space being a bit suspect. I personally think he's been ready to go for months. That being said, it's hard to emulate game speed on your own time, and he does look to have lost a bit of a step from his former self (though he's smart enough to still get himself into the right spot).
