I correctly said it in the offseason . Relievers are rarely consistent. Josh hader one of the best in the game has had ERAs of 5.22 1.28 3.80 1.80 in the past four seasons Edwin Diaz 1.31 3.52 and 4.50. Helsely had 4 blown saves all of last season he wasn’t going to have a repeat season that good again especially since he has never thrown 50 or more innings in back to back seasons so given it was a very slim chance of repeating i correctly said he should have been traded in the offseason season. Instead now hes already blown 2 saves in just 6 chances and his value goes down by the day. Easy obvious correct he should have been traded but slow Mo again did not trade a player at peak value

You guys would have crucified Mo for that return. Helsley’s value is not going down. There’s only one way for it to go and it’s up. If he stays healthy, he’ll get a better return than the Brewers got for Williams. As for Fedde, when teams can sign a Jose Quintana for $5 million, why would they give up much value for Fedde? The Cardinals need VALUE, not just SOMETHING for Helsley and Fedde. Both will be dealt at or before the deadline. The return WILL be greater than in the offseason.
