It's not our job to help Arizona. Who would be worthy to rip our steely fingers from Helsley's grasp...that AZ is willing to give up? I want ML ready.

LOL...every time a reliever is mentioned, it will include Helsley. Hang on till the trading deadline...

First good opportunity to move him with a trade where the Cards FO likes the return, pull the trigger imo, cause you just never know when an injury or regression in production might happen, especially with a pitcher.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 May 2025 16:55 pm LOL...every time a reliever is mentioned, it will include Helsley. Wake me up when that happens where an actual trade is being discussed and not some rumor by a writerJDW wrote: ↑02 May 2025 17:15 pmFirst good opportunity to move him with a trade where the Cards FO likes the return, pull the trigger imo, cause you just never know when an injury or regression in production might happen, especially with a pitcher.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 May 2025 16:55 pm LOL...every time a reliever is mentioned, it will include Helsley. I remember before the season started I mentioned they were a prime candidate for a deal for Helsley. And some [redacted] on this forum pooh poohed me because I didn't specifically name who I wanted in return. Funny how that changes as time marches on. And this before they lost guys to injury.
I suspect Lawlar is off the table but if they are willing to part with any two of Caldwell, Crisantes, Diaz, Walschmidt or Troy make the deal.

No need to wait until trading deadline for either party
You want Helsley pay the piper with top young pitching

+1 they’re desperate they know they can’t afford to fall too far back cards take advantage of it if they are smart but Mo is dumb and probably wait until the deadline after the d backs already make a move for a closer and helsleys value goes down even more

I think the greater problem is they are afraid to get worse in the short term via selling Helsley and Fedde or others. Ticket sales mean something to them. If it means better sales they will forego the long term satisfaction of a stacked farm.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑02 May 2025 19:01 pm+1 they’re desperate they know they can’t afford to fall too far back cards take advantage of it if they are smart but Mo is dumb and probably wait until the deadline after the d backs already make a move for a closer and helsleys value goes down even more

You can tell they're using him sparingly afraid he will get injured before they can cash in.
DBacks could be in panic mode knowing they can't fall far behind the Dodgers, Padres and Giants.
Strike now when a true contender is hurting and cash in before Helsley get's hurt.
Doing it now, instead of mid Summer means the acquirer gets him for a longer part of the season which ups the return!
