Contreas, Gray, Arenado
They all need to go…Serves no purpose for team or them to play for Cardinals in 2025. They are not part of rebuild
They will all waive no-trades

They would have waived before season started if Mo had handled it correctly.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:00 pm They all need to go…Serves no purpose for team or them to play for Cardinals in 2025. They are not part of rebuild

Re: Contreas, Gray, Arenado
No trade clauses are totally negotiating tools
Trade them to a contender, they will accept

Re: Contreas, Gray, Arenado
Contreras and Arenado have the physical talent.
Mentally????
Nobody home upstairs I’m afraid.
And I thought more of Gray but throwing multiple meatballs ahead 1-2 or 0-2 is mentally soft.

Re: Contreas, Gray, Arenado
Regarding Gray , his home area is Smyrna, Tn. (Nashville area ) . He signed with the Cardinals for his proximity to his home base. St. Louis is 309 miles from Nashville. I would guess after 2024 season he would be more open to 'waive' especially if he could A. return to Reds Cincy is even closer than St. Louis 273 miles and Atlanta is closest of all thre with 248 miles from Nashv. to Atl. Georgia.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:00 pm They all need to go…Serves no purpose for team or them to play for Cardinals in 2025. They are not part of rebuild

So if Cards could get interest from either one of those two , Gray would probably jump at the chance .

Re: Contreas, Gray, Arenado
Boston just lost their first baseman with a significant knee injury where he was carted off the field. They have no ready replacement and have prior expressed interest in Arenado. Nado was reportedly ready to play first base for San Diego so wonder if Boston will swing back to Nado for first base?
Devers has never played first base and has not played in the field at all this year so he most likely is not an option.

Reality is contenders may not want them.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:07 pm No trade clauses are totally negotiating tools

Arenado is right on pace for another 2024
.250, 15 HR 60 RBI type season
Just another 2 years at $60M, just absolutely washed at this point

Do you people read contracts or know what "no trade" clauses are?Joseph-Magrane wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:58 pm Arenado is right on pace for another 2024

Arenado isn't $60 million for the next two years. Google his contract.
Fight among yourselves all you want, but don't make false statements.
I'm a long time ticked off Cardinals fan, but stop the lies and misinformation.
Have any of you making these idiotic trade scenarios ever been to a game?

Gray may turn out fine and all at the end of the season, but he is not pitching like an ace. I mean hes solid and all, but hes not pitching elite.
They just dont have any part of their game that is elite and until they do they are going to be a marginal playoff team at best.

They should have been gone last off season.

Approaching Gray about accepting a trade to Atlanta should have been something the Cardinals did this past offseason when Fried and Morton both left the Braves.ramfandan wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:18 pmRegarding Gray , his home area is Smyrna, Tn. Like everyone else I get frustrated at times.Chip Matthews wrote: ↑03 May 2025 00:18 amDo you people read contracts or know what "no trade" clauses are?Joseph-Magrane wrote: ↑02 May 2025 22:58 pm Arenado is right on pace for another 2024

When that happens exaggeration can set in.
Born out of frustration.
And no....I believe the Cards owe Arenado $37M for 2026/2027?
Re: Contreas, Gray, Arenado
Gray is owed 35M next year.
That pretty much ends all conversations before they even begin.
