Walker vs. Kyrou

Post by BobbyBlue »

Through (5) games…both have (2) goals…Walker +1…Kyrou -5…Walker 20 PIM…Kyrou 0 PIM…Kyrou 8 Million per year…Walker…not even close to that…Priceless!!! Kyrou has to look himself in the mirror…and drag himself into the fight…

LOL. In the regular season Kyrou had 70 points, +23, Walker 16 pts, -5. I wonder which player the Jets focus on matching up on with their better defenders? I wonder which player averages 3 minutes more per game in this series? Why would that be?

This ain't the regular season, and that's the problem. He doesn't seem to be up to the intensity required for playoff hockey.

He also does not have Holloway on the other wing. He's having a rough time, he's now the offensive driver on his line and the Jets are focused on him. He's been banged around pretty good but he's still playing. I'd take him in a next goal bet over Scheifele.

8-9 points in 12 games last time we made playoffs. I suspect he’s dealing with something from that Stanley hit.

Look at the career playoff stats. Looks like a typical grinder fetish to me

There is no question though that the 4th line is holding it's own and the 2nd line needs to improve its 5v5 performance if the Blues are to prevail. There's little offense in the 3rd line to tap into.

I have a lot of confidence the Blues can address these holes in the offseason and next season. They have an opportunity at hand where they have come up short on the road due to matchup disadvantages.

Walker is a solid ice hockey player.
Kyrou is a savant with rthe mental toughness of a roundworm.

Yes, I was told in another thread that that’s the reason Thomas and Neighbours were quiet because the Jets were putting their better defenders on them. Apparently that doesn’t count for everyone.
It’s actually kinda funny. Win a couple games in a row and it’s all unicorns and rainbows. Lose one and it’s all Kyrou’s fault!!

Consider Kyrou's production in the 12-game win streak VS Playoffs.

When late regular season wins barely INCH a team into the playoffs, all that it means is that you lost draft position.

You guys know that penalty minutes are bad, right?

You have to think that he's roughed up from the Stanley hit. That was a major hit which I've seen Winnipeg put out on social media all the while crying about the Scheifele hit. You also can't discount that the Jet's are concentrating on him. He is our most lethal threat. That usually means that others get better looks.

No we shouldn't trade him unless the initials are BT.

I’d trade him for Brandon Tanev just for the team pics.

Additionally, Tanev couldn’t be mean to Schenn either if he was on our team.

Yup…but it says something about his lack of intensity to not even have a 2 minute penalty…even for embellishment! 😉

Kind of weak argument to equate penalty minutes to intensity. Lots of examples out there.

Kyrou does need to pick it up. If we are going to advance it will be due to scoring outside the first line.
