Good series by Cardinals getting split on road

Reds were on a 4 game winning streak as Cards arrived in Cincy.
In addition, Cardinsls had only 2 road wins thi season.
Several posters speculated possibly 1 win with optimistic ones ‘hoping’ for 2 victories.
After Game 1 loss, the Reds postgame announcers seemed pretty giddy with the 5 game win streak. Seemed liked they were thinking 3 more wins and sweep.
Then the rainout and Wed. The got their balloon burst.
Not only losing both games if the doubleheader but convincingly.
They went from giddy to ‘ Reds need a win on Thurs. to get a 2-2 split.
The Reds won today.
Versus two division rivals back to back, the Cards won 4 out of 7 games.

Or 4-3 in the last 7. They took a series from the Brewers and split with the Reds on the road, which has been a struggle. Not bad.

The lack of killer instinct to win a series by Marmot says so much about his incompetence as MLB manager. No team should want a manager who thinks it is ok to have a team play below .500 or not to play to win every game.

Nobody is giddy . The Reds happen to have a better run differntial than all but two teams in the NL.. the Cubs & NY Mets
163 runs scored with 126 runs allowed a +37 Checking the espected W-L record for that +37 shows a record of 20-12
which is 3 games better than their 17-15 actual record.
