Is Faulk the the Blues #1?
Parayko has some warts, but man I really would like to see him averaging more than 20:32 of ice.
I’d like to see him in the 23 range. He’s super engaged right now. He’s playing like I wish he did 4 years ago.

I agree. I don't have nearly the problem with Faulk as others seem to, but I completely agree on Parayko. Especially on the PP.

Fair question. In the last couple games in the regular season, Parayko didn’t look all that great and I had wondered if he was back to 100%. I wonder if that may be the case and that Monty is trying to compensate by giving Parayko more rest between shifts. I dunno — I’m just guessing here.

Re: Is Faulk the the Blues #1?
Parayko played more than Faulk last night but about a minute less than Fowler…which isn’t all too surprising since we were tailing a lot and they’d want Fowler out there to try to generate offense.
But I would like to see Parayko out there a bit more. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still not quite 100% and is wearing a knee brace so wouldn’t be surprised if they’re trying to make sure to not push him too hard. It’s a balancing act.

100%. I’d like to see more “golden goodie blasts from the point” from Colt 55 on the power play. Even if he doesn’t score, his bullets create rebounds, chaos, and fatigue for the penalty killers.Army's Mom wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:29 am I agree. Yeah but averaging 20:32? I don’t like it. He’s very engaged physically and carrying a presence.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:34 am Parayko played more than Faulk last night but about a minute less than Fowler…which isn’t all too surprising since we were tailing a lot and they’d want Fowler out there to try to generate offense.

He’s been hit more than any player in the series, so the jets are trying to chop down the tree…as they should.
Re: Is Faulk the the Blues #1?
I really wish Parayko would have challenged (at least) Stanley to fight in the 1st. He was humiliating Snuggerud (and others) badly. Someone needs to challenge him, but they look scared of him. Stanley has the crazy eyes lol

Blues haven't had a true #1 since the days of Pronger and MacInnis...they've had ALOT of 2s, but not what I'd call a build around #1 Dman in a long time.
Re: Is Faulk the the Blues #1?
When you get asked to lead Team Canada’s men’s team (something Pronger or MacInnis never got asked to do), you’re a number 1.smilinjoefission wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:51 am Blues haven't had a true #1 since the days of Pronger and MacInnis...they've had ALOT of 2s, but not what I'd call a build around #1 Dman in a long time.

He didn't humiliate anyone but himself. He was pushing around a guy 6" shorter and 45 pounds lighter that had absolutely zero interest in engaging. He looked like an absolute goof ball. He also sucks at hockey.
Re: Is Faulk the the Blues #1?
Humiliated himself? By scaring and intimidating younger players? By blowing up guys? By saying let’s go…I’ll effing kill you. He’s had a massive impact in this series and he’s doing exactly as he should. They look scared of himShakeyWalton wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:56 amHe didn't humiliate anyone but himself. True. Pronger was the last one who patrolled the d-zone ice like he owned it.smilinjoefission wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:51 am Blues haven't had a true #1 since the days of Pronger and MacInnis...they've had ALOT of 2s, but not what I'd call a build around #1 Dman in a long time.
The rest have been wannabe enforcers. Paper tigers who allow themselves to become couches.

He's an absolute freaking puzzzzi that goes after players like Faksa and Snuggerud. He looked pitiful out there and sucks at hockey. Big time sucks.theograce wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:59 amHumiliated himself? By scaring and intimidating younger players? By blowing up guys? By saying let’s go…I’ll effing kill you. It’s like you’re a child who can’t admit he’s wrong. I like it. Doug Armstrong/Yzerman/Hitchcock (all HOFers) named a paper tiger to lead the best hockey nation in the world. Crosby and McDavid … paper tigers as well

Who has he humiliated? Snuggerud? The same guy that later in the game walked him? Yeah, he was so afraid of mean old Stanley he took the puck right at him and walked right past him. Same with Walker. The guy was -2 in a game they won by 2. I’m sure the Blues hope they keep throwing him out there. He’s not very good.theograce wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:59 amHumiliated himself? And oh yeah, he was a healthy scratch the previous game.

How is he a [kittycat]? And the Blues are allowing a [kittycat] to blow up Kyrou, give little headbutts to snuggarud, call them all [kittycats] and challenge Buchnevich to fight…ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑01 May 2025 11:11 amHe's an absolute freaking puzzzzi that goes after players like Faksa and Snuggerud. That doesn’t make sense
