He has become a non-factor, even at home, and that simply shouldn't happen to a perennial 30 goal scorer.
If the Blues are going to win the next 2 he has to be a threat when he is on the ice and right now he is no more a threat then someone in the pressbox.

That's kind of the thing though, you expected the Thomas line to somewhat be shut down since Winnipeg had the last change.Cahokanut wrote: ↑01 May 2025 09:25 am If you're pointing at Kyrou for last night. I'm betting you point at him a lot.
I think maybe only Walker and that line was hustling last night.
Without Holloway, Kyrou has no line mate to play up to. Putting Neighbours on that line, all but turned them into grinders. With the play pushed behind the net. Instead of towards the net.
I think we need a line up change.
I also think we need to stop trying to out coach. Matching lines and designating a style to play hasn't worked away from home. Where big hits, get big cheers. those benefit don't apply on the road.
On the road. Benefits are in doing business. Puck pressure and straight to the net attitude wins those game.
Kyrou should be on the first line.
I almost want to put Buch back at 2c, with the two Yutes
Snuggler and Bolduc.
Neighbours.Thomas. Kyrou
Snugs. Buch. Bolduc
Joe.Schenn.Tex.
4th line.
If our next game, is our last of this season. Let it be one for the future.
Due to that it's up to the other lines to step up. I think Bolduc has become a bit timid because of the penalties, but he is still checking. Schenn obviously is still doing everything he can, but quite simply Kyrou has been invisible and that's not acceptable. He is one of the highest paid on the team, he is on line that should favor his matchups and he obviously has the talent.

Where was he on the Faulk goal game 4?
Yes he wasn't good at all in game 5 but to point him out in a game the entire team was bad is ridiculous

How many shots did others have? Thomas? Neighbours?skeezix wrote: ↑01 May 2025 07:29 am Chris Kerber was very frustrated with Kyrou's effort on the radio last evening. He only had 1 SHOT ATTEMPT the entire night. And, when they pulled Binnington, Chris noted that Kyrou gave away the puck, to allow the ENG. He's the most underperforming $8 million player the Blues have ever had. Time for him to be playing somewhere else next season. Build around Snuggerud and Holloway. #25 is a cancer that needs to be removed.

It can't be ruled out, but if so and this is the outcome, then he should likely sit out or be moved down a line.Walter Sobchak00 wrote: ↑01 May 2025 09:39 amHe's probably playing hurt something people never factor in when they are complaining about any playerTheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 May 2025 09:36 am I like Jordan and have defended him quite often, but since that hit by Logan Stanley he has essentially been neutered.

I'd put blame for his timid play on the pressure and disappointments coach has put on him. Something is off, there.
I agree Schenn is doing everything he can. He can add a scoring threat to a fourth line grind. He is just in a position he doesn't have the skills to be in anymore.
Kyrou has never been one who pushes play. His game is played in fast breaks, with accurate shots, that continue to push defenders back. Schenn and Neighbours play ditch and dig with net front for junk.Without a guy who can play that game and help push defenders back. You take Kyrous game, out. imo, His linesmate are the opposite to favoring him.

Re: Kyrou still in hybernation!
I don't disagree, but it's up to him to adjust. He's being paid 8 million, and he's being paid 8 million to put the puck in the net, not to be Robert Thomas 2.0. I'm fine with him getting assists, but that wasn't what he was signed for, he needs to do what he was he was signed for which is putting the puck in the net, and if that means altering his game, then he needs to alter his game.Cahokanut wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:04 amI think Bolduc is trying to do what is being stressed to do.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 May 2025 09:42 amThat's kind of the thing though, you expected the Thomas line to somewhat be shut down since Winnipeg had the last change.Cahokanut wrote: ↑01 May 2025 09:25 am If you're pointing at Kyrou for last night. He should lead the team in shots every single game, simple as that. The moment he crosses the blue line and the puck is on his stick his main goal should be to get the puck on net, especially with the fact that Neighbours and Schenn will very likely be around the net for rebounds. He isn't doing that, he is playing incredibly passive wanting someone else to take the shot and that's not what he's paid for. There should never be a game where he has less than 4 shots on goal, especially seeing lesser dmen on the road than the Thomas line. He's better than this and we all know he's better than this.
His shot lines this series: 4,2,2,2,1
It's getting worse and that simply shouldn't be happening.
Like I said, he needs to be a difference maker in the next 2 games, game 7 specifically (if it gets to a game 7) because Winnipeg is going to throw everything at the Thomas line to shut it down.
Re: Kyrou still in hybernation!
While everyone is talking about Kyrou, I would also like to point out that I am not sure I heard Buchnevich's name at all last night. Others stood out as being bad but really, did Buch play? Yea he of course had the hat trick game which was awesome but, not unlike his regular season, his production comes in massive but short spurts and then he fades to the back.
Re: Kyrou still in hybernation!

I looked at stats with 5 minutes left, Thomas and Neighbours with 0 shots on goal. Combined.
Did Kyrou have a good game? Nope. Did the whole team lay a giant egg? You bet. To lay it all on the feet of one person is beyond ludicrous.

Stanley murdered Kyrou and he hasnt been the same. Is he dinged up, is it mental who knows but it effectively has taken him out of the series so far. Lets see what happens tomorrow. An electrifying hattrick would be sweet

I can see them having a game on the road not having a shot as they would be going up against Winnipegs top defensive players.netboy65 wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:55 amI mentioned that earlier in this thread and was quickly pooh-poohed.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑01 May 2025 10:47 am While everyone is talking about Kyrou, I would also like to point out that I am not sure I heard Buchnevich's name at all last night. Kyrou being on a separate line shouldn't be, or it should be far less.
For him to have 1 shot just isn't good enough and pointing at other players isn't going to change that.

I’m pointing at everyone. That’s the point. Never said one shot was good enough, but plenty of blame to go around. Kyrou needs to do better, but our entire top 6 needs to do better. I don’t care if it was a road game or not. Re: Kyrou still in hybernation!
The Jets approached this as the biggest game for Jets 2.0 history! They came right out and played like it, they took it to the Blues all night the Jets are best defensive team in the NHL. Esp after Scheifele went down they really got desperate. Nothing has changed the Blues still need to win one on the road the Blues have a great chance to hold serve and let the chips fall back on the road

One game isn't an issue, it's going to happen. 4 games though? That's a trend that needs to be reversed.
If he plays these other games like he did in game 1 there's no issue at all, but he hasn't.
Re: Kyrou still in hybernation!
On the ESPN broadcast they said that the Blues' 9 shots through 2 periods is a Blues playoff low since 1990 (or one of the early 90s years). How you possibly let that happen when the whole story line coming in was Helly is effing ridiculous. The Jets did as a team take away a lot of time and space, so they absolutely worked to support Helly, but good god the Blues attempted plenty of cross ice, drop and low percentage passes that never went on net where a shot would have been a million times better.netboy65 wrote: ↑01 May 2025 12:56 pmI’m pointing at everyone. Not sure if Monty never adjusted or the team just didn't listen but that was easily the most frustrating thing for me, even more than the refs. If WPG was going to win that game, you had to make it so Hellebuyck was a reason. They failed at the one most obvious thing.
