Oh good, just what I was thinking. After going 0 for 4 at the plate, Burleson definitely should be moved up in the lineup.

Given the venue and the fact that Petty is making his MLB debut, I had hoped that Burleson might hit his first HR in 70 games*. But a quick scan of his splits shows he never has had so much as an extra base hit at GABP and carries a .119 average.
*He did hit three in spring training.

Masyn Winn hits another 2 HRs in the 2nd game. 1 away from Musial's record. Prediction.

Burleson's current OPS this year is right in line with his MLB career OPS.
Funny how some think Burly is good, when hitting was supposed to be his only plus skill, while many didn't think Bader was good when his career OPS is better than AB's while HB also brought plus defense at a key defensive position and also plus base running.
Anyway, hope AB has a good game tonight.

Except he had that 2-3 month stretch last season where he appeared to become the hitter the Cards seem to think he's capable of. And then as soon as he hit that 18th HR or something he just started chasing everything and ever since then ... crickettsJDW wrote: ↑30 Apr 2025 16:53 pmBurleson's current OPS this year is right in line with his MLB career OPS.

Additionally, he's changed his stance this year. He used to do that dug in pivot twist with his front foot and it made his pants so tight you could see his underwear line. I remember it because it always grossed me out. lol
This season, it's not there anymore, and neither is ANY power.
