I agree 100% with that dude. He is not moving well at all. He's like a statue out there. He's not reacting well with his glove at all. Just being a positional goalie right now is not going to cut it against what the Blues are throwing at him.

Is anyone else worried about the Blues coming out so strongly at the start that it feels "decided" after a period of play but it's not because there's wayyyyy too much time to play with the lead on the road against a wounded, desperate team with heavy expectations?

I am hoping for an even kind of game for awhile that the Blues THEN break through and get in his head and there's not enough time to get it together.

Based on the performances in the home games, the young guys now know that they could and probably should have won the first game, but they took their foot off the gas. They know that they have to keep the accelerator on the floorboard and stay committed to details. Winny will have a push fueled by the white out, so this will be the Binner show in the first. Then we break their hearts.

This could be the first OT of the series.

He is very "Not my fault" when he chokes year after year.

I am sure there is some truth to that as ice hockey is very much a team game but he is not adjusting and the Blues are actually scoring goals against the Jets D and G. What I mean by that is there are not a lot of lucky bounces on the Blues goals.

If you read the whole article he did not say its not his fault. He said he has to play better and didnt blame the team. He was just saying he didnt forget how to play and knows he is capable of rebounding andnisnt gonna do anything drastic to change his normal routine and form because he believes he is still the goalie he was in the regular season.

Why would he change his routine/approach? He's definitely in trouble until he figures it out. The issue here is that he has a long history of choking and it's looking bleak for him yet again. Much of what is happening can be attributed to the Blues simply outplaying the Jets. Hopefully the Blues can bring their "A" game the next two and close it out.

There was a piece in the Athletic explaining exactly WHY Hellebyuck struggles in the playoffs. It's because he plays so far back in his crease. That's fine in the regular season when there isn't as much traffic allowed in the paint, and refs tend to call everything. Once the playoffs start and the refs put away the whistles, there's a LOT more traffic in front, teams know to exploit this, and Helly gets pushed further back into his crease.

He HAS to challenge shooters more, and trust his D to cover weakside passes. If they can make that adaptation, he might right the ship.

Sounds like he's talking himself into not needing to make any adaptations, though.
