Before "Rumors" and their dominating the airwaves in the late 70's and 80's, with Christie McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac was a hard- driving English blues band featuring the dueling guitars of Danny Kirwan and Peter Green. I'd wager that The Allman Brothers enjoyed and copied a bit of this style.
