Aussie Musicians (covers)

Post by titus »

This a group of musicians that record covers out of their basement studio in Australia.
They do a very good job. Quality musicians.
, I think. The women are also easy on the eyes.

Yes, this is Singit Live. The keyboard player Darren (who also does all the editing) used to be a part of the group HSCC who also do covers but I think they had a falling out a year or two ago.

They do a nice job on "Reelin' In The Years", featuring a fine intro guitar solo by well-known session player, Elliot Randall. He supposedly showed up for the session with just his guitar but there was no amp in the studio. They finally found a bass amp and Randall was said to have ripped a brilliant first take, now lost because the engineer forgot to press the record button...

First time I heard of Jimmy Barnes, was when I bought Cold Chisel's LP - East, after hearing this song on the radio back in 1980.

My first recognition that it was Jimmy Barnes, was him covering Mustang Sally. Then I saw the video with his daughter. Recent discovery for me.

Then my wife started looking his music up.
