Here is what I see. Take away the five game losing streak you have a .500 team. But you can’t take it away. So next, where are our winning streaks, that’s key. We must win 2/3, or 2/4 consistently to remain above water.

From what I know he's still involved and was THE driving force behind bringing in C. Bloom to replace Mo in an attempt to go back to his early roots when he brought in J. Luhnow.

BUT he stayed w/Mo way, way past his expiration date in a misguided bit of loyalty and a comfort level w/3+M coming every season.

The "younger" BDWJr wouldn't have done that, the older as you said failed to act properly.
