To Produce or Not-Why?
So Saggese is hitting .341 and gets sent down. Gorman is hitting well below .250 and gets to stay with Big League Club. NowcWinn is not hitting either but at least his defense is superb. Oh yea and Saggese plays better defense than Gorman. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a Gorman hater but Saggese deserves to be in St Louis instead of him based on production. Gorman actually deserves to go down and get his bat swinging well then come back up. Cardinals should never again talk about production keeping you on the Big League Club. Why you ask? Because it’s just not true.

Everything you say is basically true. However the organization has been fairly honest in that Gorman and Walker are going to get a long look. That said I’m happy Saggese is going to play everyday or at least more in AAA.Michigan Redbird wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 07:10 am So Saggese is hitting .341 and gets sent down. +1 they are getting away from the if they struggle send them down approach and agree if saggese was in the majors he would be on the bench platooning and spot starting snd that would be dumb. I think they are giving Gorman playing time every day to see how he can do if he doesn’t measure up I think he will be gone in the offseason and saggese will have his chance next seasonJatalk wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 08:13 amEverything you say is basically true. Re: To Produce or Not-Why?
Between a start at third, a start at short, a start at second, a start at DH, pinch hit and pinch runner, I see plenty of opportunities for Saggese.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 09:56 am+1 they are getting away from the if they struggle send them down approach and agree if saggese was in the majors he would be on the bench platooning and spot starting snd that would be dumb.
