i guess i look at it a bit different then some i don't see this as a celeb cheering us on we have those in Hamm and Jenna Fischer etc. The Blues box thing has organically turned Gruden into at least a playoff hockey fan. He has been to a game before he mentioned on TMA this morning he is friends with Torts and went to a game. I compare this much more to a Tony X situation. Except Gruden has name recognition he seems to genuinely like the pace of playoff hockey and enjoying watching the blues..

Think it speaks more to the game is growing... if the 2 billion dollar price tags for new franchises didn't already......

Gruden is Funny he has always kind of reminded me of Football's Panger tbh. Charisma like you read about.

No need to be handing the mic over to a guy just jumping on the bandwagon. He can do stuff during the games. Starting the game off is an honor for Blues lifers or former players.
you sound like you'd be really fun at parties....not

He IS Saint Louis and he IS a genuine true Blue fan of this team.

We don't need nfl anything in a hockey booth.
Except he told a tall tale about his well worn hat in a promo a few years back.

dang dog good dis... not. Everyone's entitled to their opinions. I'd rather see Hull, Pronger, Maroon, Backes, the list goes on before seeing Gruden. I amended my above statement. If he wants to drop a F the NFL or F Stan Kroenke or F Goodell. I'm all for it.

Can't really call it jumping on the bandwagon when the Blues hadn't won a playoff game until his unboxing... MoFo is the bandwagon at this point
yeah exactly. his video started the comeback. I bet Monty even showed the players that video and they saw it before game 3

Tbh I felt the Hamm blues fan narrative was played out by the cup parade. I can vividly remember standing under the arch they bring him out on stage and remembering wtf is he doing up there. Jenna Fisher doesn't make her blues Fandom all about herself.

Something about the Blues Hamm narrative seems forced down our throats. 6 years later.....

Hear he is a good actor but legitimately never watched one of his movies... ( not the biggest movie guy)

Gruden brings energy and passion instead of making his Fandom about himself..

I’m fine with Gruden. I think trying to disregard him is kind of stupid. He brings a good level of competitive intensity that is perfectly welcome to this team. The “purists“ need to open their minds to new things sometimes.

The only Jon Gruden I know of is the longtime former Raiders coach and "Monday Night Football" commentator.

What is the connection between Gruden and St. Louis, and especially with the Blues?
I'm curious about that also

Good football coach in his day. Won a lot of money betting on Tampa Bay + 4 against the Raiders in the 2003 Super Bowl. Gruden knew how to exploit his old team's weaknesses. He's an interesting character. However, the NFL can go screw themselves after what they did to St. Louis.

Mad Men is a fantastic TV series and he drove the show. I'm certain this is what made him.

The Town is a great movie. He has a smaller part. It's a Ben Affleck film about Boston mobsters. Solid all around. Landman is a great TV series. He has a small part in a Billy Bob Thornton show about Texas oil.

I'm firmly in the camp that it should be Blues legends doing the pregame towel waving, beer chugging, screaming like Hullie into the mic thing. I can't tell you how much I hope that if his health allows that it is Chaser doing this on Friday night. The roof of the rink might explode if that happens.

Amen to Chaser! Hope he can do it.

Plus Hullie, Pronger, Federko, et al. I’d even add Chris Kerber — I’ll bet he could give a rousing speech.

And I would love to see them replay the Bob Plager speeches! He may have died, but his spirit lives on!!!

So many choices who aren't actors or comedians or musicians. It's cool that the famous STL show up. But I don't need Nikki Glazer firing up the crowd prior to puck drop.

I mean, I don't need that, but I wouldn't mind watching that. She's easy on the eyes.

Gruden also unpacked an entire box of Battlehawks stuff, a lot of it looked pretty cool. Kaw-Kaw is the law I hear. I forgot that head coach Anthony Becht played for him, so easy connection there.
