Sullivan out in Pitt
Have to think he's a candidate with the Rangers, where he played and later coached under Torts.

Word is management had some “non-negotiable demands” for him and he wasn’t agreeable. I’d guess those demands were playing the youngsters over the vets. Understandable mgmt would want that but also understandable a coach would want that autonomy to be in charge of his own lineup. Sounds like he just wasn’t a good fit for the rebuild they’re entering.

Chicago is going to have to make a push on this guy - out of New York, Boston and Chicago (teams that can afford him) the Hawks might be in the best situation looking forward which isn't saying much at this point.

He has apparently stated he is not interested in a rebuild. Gotta think that rules out Chi and Phi.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 14:52 pm Chicago is going to have to make a push on this guy - out of New York, Boston and Chicago (teams that can afford him) the Hawks might be in the best situation looking forward which isn't saying much at this point.
BOS is where his SIL plays, NYR is his former club. I gotta think it's a two horse race.

Always liked him as a coach, and he shouldn’t really take the blame for the fact that the team has gotten very old. On the other hand, some of the coaching decisions he made in the 4 Nations tournament were just dumb, such as benching Kyle Connor in the final game when he knew both Tkachuks were hurt. Maybe Sid has made him look good all of these years.

Having Charlie on his team might be something neither of them want...Army's Mom wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 15:07 pmHe has apparently stated he is not interested in a rebuild. Jets next coach......
Re: Sullivan out in Pitt
I was hoping it would happen earlier in the season and hoped he would come here, but the way this team is playing under Monty shows how wrong I was.

The Jets players have an existing rep for flopping when it counts. Not fixing things in his first stab at it would be a very short leash, particularly after winning the President’s Trophy.
