Seriously - we have 3 second basemen in our lineup today. That's usually not a longterm recipe for an 800 run scoring lineup, nor is it leading to great defensive alignments. That last inning we just saw 3 mistakes that were contributed to by guys playing out of their best position. And if JJW makes the majors, he's another 2b to add to the mix. Its just too MI heavy.
Meanwhile, every time we've sat Nado at 3b and tried someone else, the defense has visibly sucked. I think the future might be to rebuild the corners with GG/Silver slugger types that don't exist in this organization.
Trade a 2b?

Re: Trade a 2b?
2B Donovan
DH Gorman
Saggese is still TBD
A lot depends on Walker, too and Herrera. And if they keep Arenado. And Wetherholt won’t be up until later this season at the earliest.
For now it’s not a problem. It’s probably something that is resolved in the offseason with Bloom.

Re: Trade a 2b?
Right. But that's not where Donny is playing today, which was a problem. And yeah, does Ivan end up as the superior DH, and what does that mean for Gorman? Both seem a little streaky and injury prone but you really don't need two DHs (plus Burly)
Re: Trade a 2b?
Why is it a problem? One game doesn’t mean that’s where he plays. This is his 4th game in the OF this season. Donovan is playing LF because of Walker not being in the lineup. And Donovan’s DRS is +2 for his career in LF, so it’s not like he’s a bad LFer.
Btw Saggese just made a heck of a play at 2B.

They won. Hurdy Gurdy is en Fuego... Stop trying to make up problems. Plenty of playing time for all 3.

Donovan may need to be a regular lfer if walker.doesnt start to hitFuturegm2 wrote: ↑26 Apr 2025 15:00 pmWhy is it a problem? One game doesn’t mean that’s where he plays.
