Bloom is going to hire another Oli or Cash. Oli’s got two jobs: implement the collaborative decisions made by the management team of which he’s only a part and to face the media so the rest of the management team can remain nameless and faceless.

You are right. And it's one of many reasons why the sport isn't as interesting anymore. True strategy has been relaced by AI probabilities. The human element to do the unorthodox, understand aches & pains, to judge non-stat compiling winners, and to gauge things like confidence are all gone. It's too bad.

Bigger issue is a manager/coach should be able to use a roster to its full potential and not allow certain players like Fernandez to be in charge of situations that they're unable to perform in. That's where the problem is, and the roster we have may not be the top, but it should still be generating better than 10-15.

This roster is capable of a .500 or better season. But oli is not a manager. He's an errand boy following a script. And the script is never altered. Even when the situation calls for it. It's time for a REAL manager.
