I’m surprised at least one of the vets hasn’t been noisy yet. Maybe things will change if this w/l remains the same.

I would think at some point teams would start asking about Fedde, Helsely.
Can you imagine being a 33 and 35 yr old guy tied to a nice contract……and wanted to stay here instead of going to a contender???
Why would you want that guy on your team?

Makes me sick to even think this but Cards need to start planning a fire sale. Gorman, Walker, Burleson, Fedde, Gray, Contreras, Nootbaar, Arenado. Build around Winn, Herrera, Donovan, Scott, Saggese. Get loads of prospects in AA & AAA and be ready for a run in ‘27.

Baltimore has the 30th and 31st comp picks. They need pitching badly. Arizona has the 29th pick they can trade and need a closer.
Fedde for the 31st pick from Baltimore and Helsley to Arizona for rh power bat Waldshmidt

it's my understanding that Compensation Picks (which the 30th and 31st are), CANNOT be traded. The Competitive Balance picks CAN be traded. Those start at #33.

The only pick the O's can trade is after the 2nd round in Competitive Balance B

I’m starting to think that’s why they stayed.

Ok, didn’t realize that. Still would like to get Waldschmidt. Arizona has Jones as a rh bat that is more of a great defensive outfielder like his dad. I saw Waldschmidt play at Kentucky and was very impressed with him. The guy is a player who is going to be a very good mlb player.

If MO is doing the selling, never.

Let Bloom handle it, they're going to be his players.
Mo won't let that happen. He will run the trades. And they will be idiotic. He's going to wave that middle finger to the fans all the way out the door.

They should aim for bigger targets. The Cardinals have a few really desirable trade targets for a contender filling holes and even a few compelling youngsters that they could consider trading. If they need to, they should put together packages that bring back one higher quality player who is near major league ready in return. Don't accept numerous generic prospects with questionable ceilings. They should trade away twice as many players as they get back in return, but the return should have clear upside.

the Picks are part of it, but I WANT the picks included in a trade for Helsley, Fedde, Nado, etc

if we trade Helsley and Fedde to the Orioles, I would want Mayo and Comp Round B pick from the O's...if that's not enough, then give me a 16 or 1yo DSL pitcher that shows some promise

The trade season is only open for about 10 days from the All-Star game until the end of July. This is what Moe was taught as a child and has believed ever since so don’t try to look up any “facts” to the contrary.

There will be no trades before the All-Star break

Then the owner needs to sell the team pronto.

If we are going to make trades I agree that's how it should happen. This take a flyer on quantity over quality and hope something sticks hasn't turned us into a winner Nor has it gotten us an AS/ROY.

I'm just not sure smart teams let go of that upside player anymore at any price until they've played out in the majors. Its more likely we can trade for an established player with a contract that some team would like to get rid of.

A contender isn't going to trade anyone on the major league roster that will contribute to a pennant run. If they won't contribute to a pennant run, what are we doing here? There are some teams out there that can do this.
