Thomas Not On Ice Today

Blues practice is underway and Thomas isn't on the ice.

As mentioned in my article after Game 2, he was walking around the locker room gingerly afterwards.

Not ideal as far as PP practice goes…but if he’s nicked up…you need to rest him as much as you can with an extra day btw games (2) and (3) and (3) and (4) and hope for the best recovery he can get. Plus…it’s more important that guys like Neighbors, Buch, Schenn, Bolduc and Kyrou practice hitting the net more and finding the back of the net if the Blues are going to make a series of it.

I think he started this series compromised, still nursing his prior (groin?) injury from that awkward face-off in one of the final games.

Well, not good but also not surprising. Thomas is clearly hampered. Still confused how he got hurt on that faceoff the last game of the season but if I had to guess, he has a pulled groin or something.

Injuries piling up the wrong time of year. My guess is he plays tomorrow but he’s clearly not 100%.

Haven't heard a word on that since but did hear the rumor his prognosis is actually worse than week to week.

No. He did some light stick handling on his own. Hasn’t been out there with the team. He’s out until further notice as far as I can tell.

Regarding Thomas, they had Joseph in his spot in drills. That tells me he’s expected to play tomorrow. A winger like Joseph is just asking as a placeholder with lines like that.

Texier was on Line 3 so maybe he gets back in the lineup tomorrow.

Texier is as good as gone next year. He hasn’t seen the light of day in forever

I very much doubt it, but let’s hope a guy like Texier, if he gets into the lineup Thursday or the game after, actually scores since no one else is very offensive regularly other than perhaps Snuggerud we hope
