Hot start and defense. You are correct. Not a passable trend. Although I’d see where .235 ranks.

VSII's key stat will end up being OB% since his real offensive value is going to be getting on base and swiping bags (with the occasional HR blast tossed in) which should lead to lots of runs scored!

His current .303 OB% will NOT cut it, needs to coax more walks.

He's got to be in the .330-.335+ OB% range to affect the offense.

Let kids play 2025. Cut and pare in offseason. Add one stud. A pitcher or third baseman- A serious power hitter next year. Play 2026. Add the missing piece. Compete 2027.

Speaking of resets, I think its high time CT goes into a reset.

See where we are at the trade deadline.

It takes time. We old people have learned that.

Many here thought reset meant just the off season. They discounted the several seasons it takes to accomplish.

And I’m elated at some of the play. Exactly as they planned it. Go figure.

I believe he’s hitting .290 now, with an
OBP of .353.

Retirement. I’m on year 15 fully retired. Yes. Very boring. Can only do so many little things before they are completed.

Good books, workouts, golf, non for profit work, play with grandkids, etc.

I feel like I'm giving Gorman a bit of an excuse here, but I don't think he's gotten enough steady playing time to make a call on him yet.

And I've seen articles from both DG and John Denton stating that the FO is coming out and saying that that they're committing getting Gorman more steady starts at DH and 2B. I'm assuming that will come at the expense of Burleson, but he's nearly got an OPS under .600 right now. I know Oli loves Burleson, but I wonder if these articles coming out, along with maybe what is being said behind closed doors, are a message to Oli from the FO telling him to cut the [shirt] with Burleson. Just my opinion, but who would you want to see more of based on potential? I'd choose Gorman.

Anyway, I'd say that Jordan Walker continues to disappoint offensively, and he is someone who's getting a chance to play everyday. Now, I'm continuing to start him and give him the chance to fight through it, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing. Aside from his growth defensively. Im hoping he can work on improving offensively as much as he did defensively.

Good write. I agree on Walker. Until they rid themselves of Burleson one kid must sit.

The frustrations of seeing a path forward and not getting on it.

It would be nice for players on the list to go from where they are to all-stars. It'd make it easy.
More probable that question marks remain at seasons end. The team is still tethered to
the NG and JW duo. It's an improved situation vs a year ago because of options coming.

The team might be more critical of NG with it being his 25 season, 4th season of opportunity, and there
are multiple alternatives to go to including a top 20 guy.
JW being young is a blessing and a drawback to the organization. He'll get more opportunities and if he is
a .720 ish OPS guy, 150 points higher than today, he'll get more which is good unless that's his peak.
Davis might push him near term.

I don't see the team buying much until proven wrong.
