Funny - most of the broadcasters were saying that any other player would have removed themselves from the game after that hit and were applauding his determination to stay in the game.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
He definitely gets points for trying to gut it out. It's also true he definitely was changed by that hit. Maybe he's not healthy and couldn't make moves. He might even mentally not be there which wouldn't be good. But he clearly was a different player. I'll say this If your guys can go in the playoffs, you want them to go, even if it's at 70-80 percent. At the very least Kyrou is still Kyrou, and people have to know where he's at on the ice which in theory should have to worry about him and open up ice for others. Schenn had a couple looks where he almost scored so I do think Kyrou did what he could.the miracle wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 09:54 am Funny - most of the broadcasters were saying that any other player would have removed themselves from the game after that hit and were applauding his determination to stay in the game.

Give it a break will ya, the guy got his bell rung and probably played concussed. The dude got up slowly after that hit, it was a brutal hit.bluecard04 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:13 pm Never showed up and kept looking around for the next time he was going to get hit.
Grow a pair buddy, it’s the playoffs!
Need to get two in the Lou!!
LGB’s!!!
You act like its a video game. The guy got his head rung up.
If you want to say grow some, how bout the team? Go get Conner, go make them pay.
I hope the Blues kick some in Game 3 and turn this thing around.

This is where I am with it too. Especially in the context of how well Kyrou played in Game 1.Lone_Ranger wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 10:23 amGive it a break will ya, the guy got his bell rung and probably played concussed. The amount of specific ire that Kyrou draws, even as other guys around him perform 'worse', still amazes me. Kinda reminds me of the Pierre Turgeon time with the Blues where alot of fans seemed to only want to focus on the 'weaknesses' in his game.
LGB in Game 3!

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
Was listening on the radio last night and Vitale made multiple comments along those lines about how he has an increased respect level for Kyrou. John Kelly made a similar comment on TMA this morning.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 09:58 amThese were hockey broadcasters?the miracle wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 09:54 am Funny - most of the broadcasters were saying that any other player would have removed themselves from the game after that hit and were applauding his determination to stay in the game.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
At least someone gets it. Thomas is not the problem. Like Thomas, Holloway is the only player on the team that always wants the puck on his stick and has the talent to gain entry and make a play. Holloways absence is repeated daily because he has already become a team pillar right next to Thomas.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 09:22 amCould not disagree more. Thomas was the only player on the Blues able to maneuver the puck and stick handle into the zone. He played pretty well considering the amount of attention he got from the defense.
Kyrou completely disappeared after he got his clock cleaned.
It would be great to see the Blues make a hockey trade and move on from Kyrou. Hit or no hit he has been disappointing. His chemistry with Holloway is his only saving grace at this point. Kyrou needs Holloway, Not the other way around.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
Kyrou even before the hit isn’t playing playoff hockey. Maybe he is hurt. I applaud him for getting back in the game after the big hit but I just don’t think he has that playoff mentality. I liked his one hit in game one and think it shows progress but then I’m wondering shouldn’t that one hit he made be standard practice. For reference Kyrou watched William Nylander play game one and the stats only show he had one hit but he had 3 or 4 in the game and the biggest difference between him and Kyrou is he battles through checks and body contact with the puck vs pulling up each time if there is even a little doubt about making it through unscathed. Hopefully this playoff is an opportunity for Kyrou to grow more in that regard.
Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
exposed--nah--took a massive hit by a massive human and kept playing. amazing resiliency imo.
Much respect to Winnipeg.
Kyrou has developed into a very good 2 way player. Hes our #2 scorer.
We still lack a Scheifle or Connor on our squad--but we are getting closer.
Series isnt over. Lets go Blues. Lets go Kyrou.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
The thing is though his mere presence is constant reminder to the other players that Army believes in this team and that makes all the difference. When a team knows their GM believes in them this much they overcome plays like that as if they didn't happen.2forDiving wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 22:30 pm I’m more concerned about his Center chasing hits instead of playing pucks that are right in front of him. Happened twice in the 3rd period tonight. He has Kyrou and Neighbours heading up ice on a possible odd man rush and Schenn ignores the puck and goes for a needless hit on Lowry and the puck never leaves the defensive zone. The same center that needlessly iced the puck Saturday which led directly to the GWG.

He took a big hit too. Who knows. Healthy enough to be getting monster minutes though.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
When Thomas was interviewed before the playoffs and n espn they asked if he could have finished playing the last game of the score had of been close and he didn’t answer that question. He also said after missing the first practice that he’s hoping to get out for the next practice. Definitely didn’t sound 100%
Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
No. Make them pay by finishing our checks, and play our game. Making them pay didn't work in 2022 and it won't work now. Finish checks hard but don't do anything that puts you out of the play, or in the box. Making the Jets another President's Trophy statistic is how you make them pay.Lone_Ranger wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 10:23 am
