Facts are facts: Thomas stunk it up in Game 2

Post by icon »

One giveaway and bad pass and poor decision after another. And -2 to boot. Horrible game for him.

Scheifele stepped up his game tonight. Thomas stepped in it.

Need a lot more from him the next 2 games at home.

My thoughts too. On the second goal he chased behind the net along with both blues d, leaving jets goal scorer all alone point blank. Horrible decision.

I don't think he stunk in Game1.
In Game 2, he started off great, but some of the issues is the talent around him. Yes, lame excuse, but he's the one player that for the most part could make or start a play. The rest of the team did nothing.

He's playing with a very green rookie and apparently a stooge in Buchnevich. He set them up for plays and they fumbled. Although, I though Snuggerud got a little better or comfortable as the game went on.

Thomas still has a lot to prove in the playoffs.

5-14-19 -13 in 47 gps is nothing to brag about.

Thomas looked like he didn’t care much tonight.
Buchnevich created our only goal with dogged play along the boards and a pass through at least two sticks that gave Snuggy time to wind his watch in the slot.
Thomas is a minus four and Snuggy is a cannon, but a fairly loose one.

There’s also a chance Thomas is playing hurt.

This is right. They were talking about it after the game. He was hurt in the last game and took a day off practice. He's gutting it out. This is something that will come out after the season is over.

no, he didn't. if anything, he passed up shooting chances to try to make passes that he'd have been better off to be more selfish

Leddy on the other hand..

That would be an explanation. Many of his passes look like he just cant put enough zip on them. He has been credited with 3 hits, though..
Parayko and Broberg look too weak to join rushes. Even Fowler doesn't swoop in like he can.
Broberg, Fowler, Suter and Snuggerud have combined for zero hits and Parayko has 1.

Five man units are only a memory.

St Louis probably has one of the softer defensive lineups that I've seen in their history.

Everyone got small out there.

Big Stanley put some fear in a few and chasing big hits turned into, Who's there?

That's absurd. Thomas was decent last night.

That sounds a little stinky to me. That's a minor weakness of his that he's never been able to get rid of.

Nonetheless I think the Blues will win the next one or both games at home.

Jamie Rivers essentially confirmed that Thomas is limping around after the game so he is not 100%
Same with Parayko. Suspicions that he is not completely healed and that is why he is weak at catching up to the puck around our goal

Whatever they do, the team needs to cross cross players around Hellebuyck and cause him some chaos. I foresee the WTF buzzing around more with 4 lines

Fellas on 101.1 today... Rutherford said Thomas is playing hurt and Parayko isn't 100% either.
