I thought the same thing. He got his bell rung and he disappeared.bluecard04 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:13 pm Never showed up and kept looking around for the next time he was going to get hit.

This said, the entire team disappeared again in the third period. So, he's not the only person to blame. At the beginning of the third period, every player other than Binnington placed their heads firmly.up their (bleep) and look terrible.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
Watching the Capitals game before the Blues game came on and the broadcasters were ripping Laine for peeling off and not making a hit when it was right there. Said it’s playoffs and everyone else in the team is finishing their checks. Wonder what they would say watching Kyrou?
There’s no doubt he has improved his two way play but watching him tonight he’s not even trying to hit anyone. On the Blues time out you could see everyone was sweating except Kyrou. Unless he commits to playing playoff hockey this team will never win a cup with him in the top 6. I liked Snuggerud’s overall game tonight more than Kyrou’s. I also don’t think Kyrou played terrible or cost the Blues to be scored on but he’s just not up to the task.

Exactly the reason Berube and Kyrou didn't see eye-to-eye. It's one thing to be a star in the regular season, but it takes a different mindset in the post season and it looks like Kyrou doesn't want to go there.bluecard04 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:13 pm Never showed up and kept looking around for the next time he was going to get hit.

The entire [fork]ing team got rocked but only ONE player disappeared.
Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
Thomas stunk way worse than Kyrou. Just awful all game long. Bad passes, passing up a slot shot for a drop pass, giveaways and generally poor decisions. And he got a -2 for his efforts.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
I’m more concerned about his Center chasing hits instead of playing pucks that are right in front of him. Happened twice in the 3rd period tonight. He has Kyrou and Neighbours heading up ice on a possible odd man rush and Schenn ignores the puck and goes for a needless hit on Lowry and the puck never leaves the defensive zone. The same center that needlessly iced the puck Saturday which led directly to the GWG.

Could not disagree more. Thomas was the only player on the Blues able to maneuver the puck and stick handle into the zone. He played pretty well considering the amount of attention he got from the defense.
Kyrou completely disappeared after he got his clock cleaned.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
Agreed that Kyrou played absolutely tentatively after getting his clock cleaned. Not surprising but still disappointing.
That said, he’s far from the only player playing poorly. The loss of Holloway is having a cascading effect IMO. Kyrou, Buch or whoever would be playing with Holloway if he was healthy are hurting quite a bit without him. And Thomas and anyone else on the 1st line now has to shoulder more of the load and is the sole defensive focus now and they’re not rising above. Which again, isn’t surprising. But is disappointing.
But a lot of the issue is Winnipeg is simply a very good team top to bottom and they’re well coached. It’s not like the Blues are just pissing it away to an inferior team. And yes, they’re missing a couple forwards too but they are deeper and it’s impacting them less. I suppose there’s a reason why the won the Presidents Trophy after all…
Lots of defensive miscues last night too. Broberg, Faulk, Leddy and Tucker was probably the worst. Even Fowler and Parayko had some plays they’d definitely want back but overall I thought Fowler brought his A game. Parayko might not be fully 100% yet. I bet he’s playing with a knee brace on.

Re: Kyrou exposed after hit in 1st
This is why I love Kyrou's shot but will probably never trust him to play the complete game we need with our style. There are probably setting where his style would work but I think it still requires the other 4 skaters to cover for him and that has to get old.
