Blues played hard again.
Just lacking the firepower. Also Jets’ D is big and our forwards not so big.

Yep. Pretty much right there with the Jets. Really too bad they lost Holloway a couple weeks ago.

Let's see what happens in St. Louis. It's not like they Blues are getting blown out.

Re: Blues played hard again.
Blues have 4 goals perfect shots roofed. No net front presence whatsoever. They need to make life more uncomfortable for Hellebuyck or this will be a short series. As others have said, the Blues are missing Holloway badly. He drives the play for that 2nd line.

Yes, yes he does. He is a zone-breaker and puck hound.
Re: Blues played hard again.
I agree with this. We're not being blown out. But, Montgomery has got to figure out why this team is so (bleep) on the third period. If he doesn't, they'll be done in two more games.

Have to remind myself, Winnipeg is an amazingly disciplined team, especially team defense. It’s part of why Helly has such numbers, and why they won the president’s trophy. They just give very little once they have a lead.
Blues inexperience showed some down the stretch.
Painful losses, as they all are in the playoffs

Re: Blues played hard again.
Unfortunately ever since JBo retired Parayko has been really poor in the playoffs. Two straight -2 games so far.
Re: Blues played hard again.
Parayko interferred with Binner on the Jets second goal. He knocked Binner’s stick away as Binner tried to move the other direction to stop the shot. Both Jets goals were helped by our own players. It’s the only way the Jets could score tonight. So there’s that. Maybe we’ll get that puck luck at home.

They’re playing as well as an eight-seed can play against the President’s Trophy winners. Not sure I’d call it playing “really well,” aside from Binnington.LuvthaBlues wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:23 pmNot even close! They are playing really well and making the best team pay attention and earn every inch. This series ain’t over yet!
Re: Blues played hard again.
Very apparent about their play with a lead. As a team the Blues learned how to play together this season, after the 4Nations. The Jets have been working longer on the finer points of their game.mph6689new wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:28 pm Have to remind myself, Winnipeg is an amazingly disciplined team, especially team defense. Hard to argue that Winnipeg isn't the better team but it's close. We've put two goals into our net and Parakyo getting tangled up with Binnington gave them another. In two close games that's the difference.
Yes we miss Holloway, but they are missing Ehlers. I don't think we can complain about health.

Re: Blues played hard again.
Are we really saying the reason Connor scored is because Parayko got in Binner’s way? It had nothing to do with leaving Connor completely alone in the slot?Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 21:48 pm Hard to argue that Winnipeg isn't the better team but it's close.
