Officiating
The tripping call was [nonsense] and they are not even showing the Tucker/Walker penalty...announcers said Tucker but Walker came out of the box. Ridiculous

I didn't see the replay on Faksa's trip but to the naked eye it looked like a dive, for which the Jets are known to take.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 19:07 pm The tripping call was [nonsense] and they are not even showing the Tucker/Walker penalty...announcers said Tucker but Walker came out of the box. John Buccigross is the worst of the ESPN play by play guys for hockey.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 19:07 pm The tripping call was [nonsense] and they are not even showing the Tucker/Walker penalty...announcers said Tucker but Walker came out of the box. Ridiculous
Before the game, he said Binnington lit up for 3 goals in the 3rd period of Game 1. The 3rd was an empty net goal, dummy.
He also said “here’s the Canadian National Anthem” right before the lady singer sang The Star Spangled Banner.

In his defense, maybe hes a dumb (donkey).
Re: Officiating
I’m watching the CBC feed. The Faksa penalty was completely accidental after he made a hit and was off-balance. It was technically a penalty, but pretty tiki-tacky.
The Tucker penalty was an absolute bonehead play on Tucker‘s part. He cross checked the Winnipeg player from behind and broke his stick in half in the process. It was a completely unnecessary penalty, and a very obvious call.

Faska knew what he was doing and even if he didn’t it’s a penaltyaroos wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 19:48 pm I’m watching the CBC feed. The Faksa penalty was completely accidental after he made a hit and was off-balance. It was technically a penalty, but pretty tiki-tacky.

Neighbours dove and got the call. Great play by him

Bucci always has nice things to say about the Blues and seems to enjoy coming to St Louis. We have to take those things when we can get them!Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 19:24 pmJohn Buccigross is the worst of the ESPN play by play guys for hockey.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 19:07 pm The tripping call was [nonsense] and they are not even showing the Tucker/Walker penalty...announcers said Tucker but Walker came out of the box. Bucci is like your friend who is the biggest hockey fan and now he's calling the game. He's not well trained in it, but he does love the game.sdaltons wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 20:19 pmBucci always has nice things to say about the Blues and seems to enjoy coming to St Louis. He annoys me, but he's always pulled for the Blues back in the Pronger days. He comments on how players are rather than calling the game. There's a reason for the color analyst to be there.

Jets have gotten the last two or three straight penalties. You know what’s coming.

I actually like Bucci as a studio host. He might even be a decent color man. But IMO, he’s not a good PxP man.somni wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 20:25 pmBucci is like your friend who is the biggest hockey fan and now he's calling the game. Re: Officiating

This is very accurate. He clearly is super passionate about hockey and knows what he’s talking about for the most part. Big advocate for college hockey too. But as a player by play guy? He’s pretty horrible. He has the job because he’s the main ESPN hockey guy, not because of talent.somni wrote: ↑21 Apr 2025 20:25 pmBucci is like your friend who is the biggest hockey fan and now he's calling the game.
