Deeeeeeep breaths.
Total heartbreaker but it's the playoffs.
No team is going 16-0.
This team has a taste now and were either tied or had the lead for all but a few minutes.
Blues will be hungry next game. The Jets are beatable.

Yep. Go win game 2 and take home ice advantage in the remaining best-of-5.
Re: Deeeeeeep breaths.
I haven't watched the game yet, but it sounds like the Blues need to play a more disciplined game. Get it together and make it up on Monday.

Meh. We did what i wanted in game 1 for 2 periods, and got way away from it for reasons unknown in the 3rd. gotta learn to not get cute with the dump and defend, and continue playing the way that got you the lead, or at least setup for a counter rush. We were outhitting them and imposing our will for a good while, if we keep that up for another 3-4 games It'll take a toll on their bodies and they'll either have a tough time playing at full speed or they'll start making quicker decisions to avoid further punishment, resulting in more questionable choices and more turnovers.

This Blues team has shown they can literally beat anybody. It will not be easy of course as playoffs you get inconsistent reffing and the games WILL be more physical. Like you said they looked good for 2 periods and just didn't have it for whatever reason in the last period. It is what it is, on to the next one. Jets are still chokers until they prove they are not.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025 02:25 amMeh. We can absolutely beat anybody. Minus empty net goals, one goal game wins are as close as it gets. The Jets aren't riding home thinking this is gonna be easy. Far from it.

Bolduc took a bad penalty but the Blues killed it off. But they did have some good momentum going at the time (they were on the PP themselves when Bolduc crosschecked a guy). It happens. Move on. Do better tonight.

if we win today, we will win the cup . I can feel it

Re: Deeeeeeep breaths.
The problem was the Blues lost a game they were leading going into the 3rd...what was their record before? It was a game the Blues gave away and you can't do that in the playoffs. Hellebuyck's been a horrible playoff goalie the past two seasons so I'm not saying the Blues can't beat him, but now we gotta win 4 games instead of 3.
Re: Deeeeeeep breaths.
I still believe the Blues are a good team but so are several others in the playoffs. Nothing is going to be easy for them, nor should it be. Saturday was a learning experience. Win or lose this series it was a lesson those young players will not forget. The veterans want to win NOW, not that the kids don't but several of the veterans are running out of time. If they want to win this series they need to sustain the intensity and focus they brought in the first two periods for an entire game, however long that is. And it might be longer than 60 minutes.
They must win at least one game in Winnipeg. It doesn't have to be this game tonight but they need to play this game like it does. They must play like they are determined to come back to Winnipeg again, at least one more time. Every shift.
I don't know about deep breaths, that sounds like what we saw in the 3rd period, or like what you do after a hand-pass non-call costs you a game. The Blues should not believe Winnipeg will be that easy again. Buckle up, buckle down. Get it done. Done, completely.

The Blues don't have to win, but statistics say it's nearly a must win game to have a shot at winning the series. There have only been 5 times out of 54 when the team down 0-2 came back and won the series. This is probably due to a variety of factors, most notably I'd assume the team that went up 2-0 was the better team and had home ice. But no one has done it since 2011. I can't really believe that. Those numbers seem goofy but 3 different websites saying the same thing.
