Re: Padres Schildty
The Padres look like they're turning into a steady contending team rather than just a short window
Re: Padres Schildty
So each year we donate a small amount to Waino’s charity. Yesterday got thank you letter in mail along with about 5 others. My address but to different donors. One was Schildt. Clerical error with address I guess. True story. I’m thinking he donates much more than me.
Re: Padres Schildty
Maybe the Padres have a better team? And an owner (now dead) who spent a ton (still have payroll of $210M) and an aggressive GM Preller.
Their best players:
Tatis - great trade
Merrill - 1st round pick
Machado - big $ FA
Bogaerts - big $ FA
Suarez - big $ FA
Cease - - big $ FA
Jason Adam - good trade
Michael King - good trade

Sure. But Schildt was always a solid tactician.ClassicO wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025 21:42 pm Maybe the Padres have a better team? And an owner (now dead) who spent a ton (still have payroll of $210M) and an aggressive GM Preller.

Re: Padres Schildty
He had considerable success when he managed the Cards, but was still despised. Now we like him?

I believe any of us could manage the Padres to a similar record they have now. They're stacked. In fact, they have been for about 3 years. Got as much to show for it as the Cardinals last 3 years.
Is that on both managers?

There was a loud and ignorant minority that despised Schildt. Most Cardinal fans appreciated him for his prep and knowledge. He was a very good manager for STL why here. He is gone because of Mo's ego.

My own personal conspiracy theory is that Oli was a Mo plant in the dugout and was stabbing Schildty the whole time.

Just one of many of the blunders of Mo.
