Cardinals bright spots, so far, this season

Post by Shady »

The emergences of position players, Scott and Saggese. And starting pitcher, Liberatore. Hopefully, two productive starters in the regular lineup, And a quality LHP starting pitcher. Three very positive developments.

You already got your lefty in Libby. Need Pallante to be a two.

Let's hope, eventually, McGreevy, Mathews and Roby will also come aboard in the starting rotation.

You’re asking for the moon. Be lucky if one of yours, Libby or Pallante blossoms to ace level.

It’s like sales or recruiting- 100 contacts 50 interviews 25 tests- 10 pass, five take physical, two enlist.

Same here. Through attrition we may get one. And that’s good.

It looks like a whole different offense (for the better) compared to last year. Also, for a reset season a big part of the purpose is to sort out the roster and see what they are and are not. Early returns say Herrera and Saggese are hitters. Contreras can play first base. Scott can hit major league pitching enough to stay on the field. Pages can hit enough to be in the lineup consistently.
Liberatore can be a starter. Walker can play defense well enough to stay in RF. Still waiting to see if Walker will hit for power, if Gorman will hit with any consistency at all, what the heck can you do with Burleson, or if Herrera will be good enough defensively to remain at catcher. Answer as many of these questions this year as you can.

I did say that these were early returns. These things will be evaluated on an ongoing basis all year.

Herrera? Noot? Hurdy Gurdy? Maton? Nado?

Several bright spots this season.

Bright spot? Only 5+ months left to the regular season and 4+ months to CFB.

Walker's defense has improved greatly and decent job as a hitter. Hopefully his hitting will continue to a improve. Herrera's strong start is encouraging along with Donovan having such a great start. Libby is finally living up to what the organization expected. Saggese is an absolute keeper.
