Why would the punter transfer. Is it really just about the dollars? With rosters being cut back there couldn’t be that much competition for the punter.

Last season, Bauer punted 49 times for 2,047 yards (41.8 average), ranking sixth in the SEC in punts and eighth in punting average and punting yards.
He had 16 punts inside the 20, only five touchbacks and was the holder for place kicks for a promising freshman.

His average yards per punt was near the bottom of the conference and should be easy to replace.winonsports wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025 13:02 pmLast season, Bauer punted 49 times for 2,047 yards (41.8 average), ranking sixth in the SEC in punts and eighth in punting average and punting yards.

Spring competition probably bore that out.

No big deal. Drink doesn't really care about special teams anyhow.
Re: Missouri transfer punter Luke Bauer commits to Michigan
Bauer was Missouri’s starting punter the last two seasons for the Tigers and had moderate success. This past season, he punted 49 times and had 41.78 yards per punt on average. He also had 13 punts downed inside the 20 yard line and had just five touchbacks. Bauer booted seven punts for 50 or more yards.
Bauer will compete with Hudson Hollenbeck for the starting role in 2025. This will be Bauer’s final season of college eligibility. - Maize & Brew
At 6-foot-5 and 221 pounds, Bauer, a St. Louis, Missouri, native, had two great years at Missouri. As a freshman, Bauer had 22 punts for an average of 41.9 yards, with a long of 73 yards.
As a sophomore, Bauer posted solid numbers. He launched 49 punts in 13 games, and he averaged 41.8 yards per boot, with a long of 62 yards. In his sophomore season, Bauer kicked 2,047 yards worth of punts. - Maize & Blue Review

we are at the bottom of punt return average, punt return opponent average, kick return, and opp. kick return average, and I believe that's been the case for a while--don't know what Pinkel's stats were but he always seemed to have special teams prioritized.11WSChamps wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025 16:39 pmWhy do you say that?Mizzoufan443 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025 16:03 pm No big deal.
